Leading the series is the vivo X500 Pro Max, which features a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera and supports the 400mm Equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra for capturing distant subjects. The X500 Pro Max is designed for users who want greater flexibility when photographing sports, wildlife, concerts and other fast-moving scenes.

Co-engineered with ZEISS, the X500 Pro Max’s telephoto camera uses a 1/1.4-inch Ultra-Sensing Sensor HP0 with an 85mm equivalent focal length. It also features CIPA 7.0 Professional Stabilization to reduce motion blur and support longer handheld exposures in low light conditions.

The phone’s X-Track Engine enables subject tracking across photography and video, helping keep subjects in focus even when they temporarily leave the frame or become obstructed. Snapshot Mode supports autofocus tracking at up to 60 frames per second, while the Super Snapshot Engine enables 30x Long-Range Motion Snapshot photography on the X500 Pro Max. The X500 Pro supports up to 20x Long-Range Motion Snapshot.

For video creators, the X500 Pro Max supports 4K 120fps Pro AF Tracking Video and Auto Framing Video. Those who need greater reach can use the 400mm equivalent ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, which supports more than 10 shooting modes, including Stage, Snapshot and Pro.

The X500 offers a more compact everyday creative experience, featuring a 72mm equivalent ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera and a 50MP ZEISS Pro-Level Ultra-Sensing Camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, similar to the one used in the X300 Pro.

Portrait photography receives an upgrade with Cinematic Portrait, which adjusts lighting for different environments, including daylight, dusk and indoor settings. The vivo Color Palette feature also allows users to fine tune tone, glow and grain for more personalised portrait effects.

Video capabilities are another major focus of the new series. The X500 Pro Max introduces a ZEISS TrueDynamic Main Camera with Cinematic Pro Log Video, designed to preserve details in highlights and shadows for greater flexibility during editing. Its dedicated Log curve is tuned to the camera’s claimed 17EV dynamic range, giving creators more control over footage captured in challenging lighting conditions.

The device also supports 4K Dolby Vision Portrait Video, which combines high dynamic range imaging with portrait enhancement to maintain natural skin tones and tonal detail. Its 4K Cinematic Portrait Video mode includes film inspired colour styles such as Sunny Day and Vibrant, developed jointly by vivo and ZEISS.

For slow motion recording, the main camera supports native 4K 240fps High Frame Rate Video in Video, Pro Video and Slo-mo modes. A 3-degree Gimbal-Grade Optical Image Stabilisation system is designed to keep footage stable when recording moving subjects.

The wider X500 Series supports Multi-Focal 4K 120fps High-Spec Video and 4K Cinematic Color Video. Its Film Style mode recreates a cinematic appearance through a 2.4:1 aspect ratio and effects such as motion blur, halation and grain. The enhanced 4K Cinematic Color Video feature also offers film inspired styles including Paris Afterglow, Golden Hour and Pastel.

For concertgoers, Stage Mode 3.0 introduces features such as Auto Framing Fancam Video, 4K Dual-View Stage Video, 4K Stage All-in-One Recording and Super Telephoto Stage Snapshot. Movie Workshop adds further creative tools, including automatic subject framing and Vortex Shot, which creates a rotating 360-degree effect with one tap.

Both smartphones run on OriginOS 7, which introduces smoother animations, cross device connectivity and AI powered productivity tools. Origin Workbench supports floating windows, task switching and drag and drop file transfers between applications, while Origin Smooth Engine is designed to maintain responsive performance during everyday use.

The operating system also expands connectivity with Apple devices, including AirPods, Apple Watch and iCloud. Quick Share supports file transfers across compatible devices, including interoperability with AirDrop, while Seamless Device Switch allows users to migrate essential information between devices. vivo Office Kit also supports collaboration between vivo smartphones and Mac computers through tools such as Jovi PC and Camera Sharing.

AI features include Snap & Go, which recognises information in screenshots, and AI Next Up, which turns recognised schedules into reminders on the home screen. AI Recorder offers speaker recognition, transcript outlining, transcript refinement and smart summaries, with templates for meetings, lectures and interviews.

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro in the X500 Pro Max, built using TSMC’s 2nm process and a 2+3+3 architecture. The standard X500 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M, which is designed to deliver smooth everyday performance.

Battery capacity is another key feature. The X500 Pro Max packs a 7,800mAh BlueVolt battery, while the X500 has a 7,500mAh battery. Both are the largest battery capacities introduced in vivo’s X Series to date. The devices support 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge, while second generation semi solid-state battery technology is designed to support operation at temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Bypass Charging helps manage heat when the phones are used while charging, while on device AI learns usage patterns to optimise power consumption without compromising core activities such as photography and gaming.

Both models feature ZEISS Master Color Displays with up to 2,000-nits of global peak brightness and 100 per cent P3 colour gamut coverage. The X500 Pro Max comes with a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color Display, which vivo describes as the largest display on one of its flat screen smartphones.

The X500 Pro Max adopts a Tideline Design, with a gently sloping transition between the camera module and the phone body. It will be available in Starry Gray and Sunset Orange. The X500 features a new Floating Camera Module with a squared, streamlined design and comes in Dusk Black and Sunny White.

Both models also feature IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanning, USB 3.2 and an infrared blaster.

In Singapore, the vivo X500 with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage will retail at S$1,999, while the vivo X500 Pro Max with the same memory and storage configuration will cost S$2,499.
