Swap Mobile has launched in Singapore with a digital-first mobile service that combines smartphone subscriptions, customisable SIM plans and device protection, giving consumers more flexibility to adjust their mobile services as their needs change.
The service is powered by StarHub’s nationwide 4G and 5G network and is available online, with its official launch taking place on 19 October 2026. Its plans will also be available through selected retail partners.
Part of Swap Asia Group, Swap Mobile aims to offer an alternative to traditional mobile plans by allowing customers to change their data allowances monthly and request a new smartphone through its Device Subscription programme.
Under the 24-month Device Subscription, customers can access selected flagship and mid-range smartphones without paying an upfront device cost. They can request a device upgrade every six months by returning their existing phone and starting a new subscription term with their chosen replacement device. The subscription combines an eligible smartphone, a selected 4G or 5G SIM plan and Swap Protect Pro in one monthly fee. Devices under the subscription remain the property of Swap Mobile.
Customers can choose from selected smartphone models from leading manufacturers, while those who prefer to own their devices can purchase selected phones outright at full retail price or through a bank instalment plan.
Swap Mobile also offers SIM-only plans without long-term commitments, starting at S$10 per month for 4G and S$15 per month for 5G. Its slider-based interface allows customers to adjust their data, talk time and SMS allowances every month without switching providers. Customers can also configure additional roaming data for Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand according to their travel needs.
Both 4G and 5G plans include Asia Pacific roaming data, with 10GB for 4G customers and 25GB for 5G customers. Those on 5G plans also receive an additional 10GB of global roaming data.
Device protection is included in both subscription options. Every Device Subscription comes with Swap Protect Pro at no additional monthly cost, covering accidental damage, attended theft and screen cracks, subject to the applicable policy terms and exclusions.
Standalone SIM customers receive Screen Crack Protect at no additional cost. The coverage allows one claim per year of up to S$250 for screen repairs carried out by brand-authorised service centres. All claims remain subject to the relevant policy terms, exclusions and claims procedures.
To mark its Singapore launch, Swap Mobile is offering promotional rates for a limited time. Customisable SIM plans start from S$1 per month for the first three months. Device Subscriptions are available at promotional prices ranging from S$5.90 to S$105.90 per month for the first three months. From the fourth month onwards, regular subscription rates ranging from S$29.90 to S$119.90 per month will apply.
The launch is guided by Swap Mobile’s brand belief, “Maybe Leads to More”, which reflects its approach to giving customers greater control over their mobile services instead of requiring them to commit to fixed plans and device upgrade cycles.
Swap Mobile enters Singapore’s mature and competitive telecommunications market at a time when providers are looking beyond data allowances and pricing to differentiate their services. The company believes greater consumer control over devices, plans and protection can offer a different approach to mobile connectivity.
