UNIQLO is expanding its long running collaboration with contemporary artist KAWS with the launch of KAWS UNIVERSE, a new UT collection inspired by the message “We are better together.” The collection explores human connection through KAWS’ iconic COMPANION character alongside a new group of characters, and will be available from 14 September.
For KAWS UNIVERSE, KAWS has created new characters inspired by universal motifs including the Earth, Moon and Sun. Appearing alongside COMPANION, the characters represent themes of hope, warmth and human connection.
The collection uses familiar visual elements to present a message about people connecting and acknowledging one another across borders, cultures and generations. The designs are featured across T-shirts and sweatshirts for both adults and children, allowing the collection to be worn by different age groups.
The T-shirts and sweatshirts feature playful graphics of COMPANION and the new characters, while KAWS’ distinctive “XX” motif appears through subtle details and embroidery. For the first time in a KAWS collaboration, the collection will also include plush charms, giving fans another way to carry the KAWS UNIVERSE with them.
In the adult range, T-shirts will be available in four designs at $19.90 each, while sweatshirts will come in three designs priced at $39.90 each. The kids’ range includes three T-shirt designs at $14.90 each and three sweatshirt designs at $29.90 each.
The plush charms will be available in three designs at $14.90 each.
KAWS UNIVERSE will launch in Singapore on 14 September.
