ERDINGER Oktoberfest is returning to Singapore this September with its biggest celebration yet, transforming Lau Pa Sat into a Bavarian inspired festival ground across two weekends on 18 and 19 September and 25 and 26 September.
The celebrations will feature free entry, live entertainment, interactive games and plenty of ERDINGER beer, bringing the communal atmosphere and traditions of Oktoberfest to one of Singapore’s best known food destinations. Following last year’s Satay Street celebration, the takeover will combine Bavarian beer culture with Lau Pa Sat’s local hawker offerings.
Festivalgoers can expect metre long beer trays, stage performances and a series of Oktoberfest themed activities throughout the two weekends. Each evening will begin with a lively procession of barmaids accompanied by New Stream Brass Band, Singapore’s first New Orleans style brass band. The group will distribute 50 complimentary pints of ERDINGER to festivalgoers around the stage before leading the crowd in a mass beer toast and a collective “PROST!”
Visitors are also encouraged to dress for the occasion. Those turning up in lederhosen, dirndls, blue and white outfits or modern interpretations of Bavarian fashion may be spotted by roaming Oktoberfest Style Spotters, with standout looks receiving exclusive ERDINGER merchandise.
Live entertainment will continue throughout the celebrations, with New Stream Brass Band joined by acoustic party band The Mad Trio, giving festivalgoers a soundtrack for the evening’s festivities.
The event will also feature a series of interactive games inspired by Oktoberfest traditions. Pretzel Toss will challenge participants to test their aim and reflexes, while Stein Slide puts an Oktoberfest spin on curling. The Stein Holding Challenge will test participants’ strength and stamina, with nightly hosted showdowns giving competitors the chance to compete in front of the crowd.
Game passes can be unlocked through purchases of ERDINGER beers or by sharing ERDINGER moments on social media. Participants who successfully complete the challenges can earn redemption tickets for exclusive Oktoberfest merchandise, including limited edition jerseys, tumblers, socks and cushions that will only be available at the festival.
Visitors can also take part in live Oktoberfest and ERDINGER trivia challenges during the evenings. Winners could walk away with a metre long tray of ERDINGER to share with their table.
Beer remains at the centre of the celebration, with ERDINGER Weissbier served on draught at Lau Pa Sat. Brewed in Erding, Germany, the beer brings Bavarian brewing heritage to Singapore, while the combination with Lau Pa Sat’s local hawker fare creates a distinctly Singaporean take on Oktoberfest.
The celebration will extend beyond Lau Pa Sat as ERDINGER brings Oktoberfest activities to selected bars, pubs and restaurants around Singapore. Participating venues include The Chevrons on 11 September, Taki Bar on 24 and 25 September, Clarke Quay Fountain on 16 and 17 October, and Bread Butter Jam on 16 October. Guests at these locations can take part in Oktoberfest games and stand a chance to win the same exclusive ERDINGER Oktoberfest merchandise featured at the main festival.
For those who prefer to celebrate at home, ERDINGER will also introduce limited edition Oktoberfest Brew cans at major supermarkets and on RedMart. Created for the festival season, the brew combines smooth malt aromas with pronounced hop bitterness for a full bodied yet refreshing profile.
With the main festivities at Lau Pa Sat and activities continuing at venues and retailers across Singapore through October, ERDINGER is bringing the spirit of Bavaria to the city with beer, games, entertainment and opportunities for friends to raise a glass together and say “Prost!”
