HUAWEI MatePad Air Arrives in Singapore With OLED PaperMatte Display and Lightweight Design

Huawei has announced the Singapore availability of the HUAWEI MatePad Air, a new tablet designed to combine portability, creative features and productivity tools in a slim form factor.

Built around Huawei’s “Fresh Air, Your Spark” concept, the HUAWEI MatePad Air features a lightweight design, immersive display and software and accessory ecosystem aimed at students, young creators and mobile professionals.

The tablet uses an inverted OLED screen layout without an internal support bracket, allowing the display to be assembled directly onto the device body. Huawei says the simplified internal structure contributes to its slim and lightweight profile, making the tablet suitable for work, creative projects and entertainment while on the move.

The metal body is finished using a pearlescent e-coating process, giving it a subtle shimmer that changes with the light. The tablet is available in Airy Blue.

For users who prioritise visual quality and comfortable reading or writing, the HUAWEI MatePad Air PaperMatte Edition features a 12-inch OLED PaperMatte Display with 2.8K resolution, a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, peak brightness of up to 1,200-nits and P3 cinema grade colour gamut.

Huawei’s nano level etching technology is designed to reduce the sparkle effect often associated with matte displays while minimising glare and reflections. The display retains a paper like feel for writing and touch interactions, making it suited to activities such as reading, streaming, digital sketching and document work.

The tablet also comes with a software ecosystem covering productivity and creative tasks. HUAWEI Notes supports note taking, GoPaint is designed for digital drawing, while WPS Office provides tools for document editing, presentations and PDF management.

The HUAWEI MatePad Air can be paired with the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro and Smart Magnetic Keyboard, allowing users to switch between tasks such as taking meeting or class notes, sketching, editing documents and managing presentations.

Huawei has also equipped the tablet with a 3D heat dissipation architecture designed to manage heat during heavier workloads. The system is intended to support multitasking, content creation and demanding applications while maintaining a consistent user experience.

For audio, the tablet features a six-speaker crossover system with a quad driver bass unit, designed to provide stronger bass and a wider soundstage despite its slim profile.

Powering the device is a 10,100mAh battery, which Huawei says can provide up to 16 hours of local HDR video playback. The tablet supports 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo, which can charge the battery to 42% in 30 minutes.

The HUAWEI MatePad Air will retail in Singapore for S$1,198. Pre-orders will run from 2 to 8 September 2026 at HUAWEI Experience Stores and through HUAWEI Official Stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop. Customers who pre-order during this period will receive an instant S$100 discount.

From 9 September 2026, the tablet will also be available at Challenger and Metapod.
