Korean Air will launch a new daily service between Seoul Incheon and Hiroshima from 23 December 2026, strengthening its network in Japan’s Chugoku region and giving travellers another direct connection between South Korea and western Japan.
The new route will be operated by Korean Air’s Airbus A321neo aircraft. Flight KE2183 will depart Seoul Incheon at 10:35am and arrive at Hiroshima at 12:15pm. The return flight, KE2184, will leave Hiroshima at 1:25pm and arrive at Seoul Incheon at 3:25pm.
Hiroshima is the largest city in the Chugoku region and is known for its combination of history, culture and natural scenery. Among its major attractions is Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Three Views of Japan. Other notable sights include Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and the historic Shukkeien Garden.
The city is also known for its hot springs, local cuisine and leisure activities. Visitors can explore traditional hot spring destinations such as Tomonoura and Kinoe, while Hiroshima’s culinary highlights include Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, fresh oysters and local beef. Several golf courses are also located within an hour of Hiroshima Airport, making the destination attractive to golf travellers.
Hiroshima is not only a tourism destination but also an important industrial centre in Japan. The city is home to Mazda Motor Corporation’s headquarters and manufacturing facilities, a major Micron Technology semiconductor facility, as well as operations by JFE Steel and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
Its location also makes Hiroshima a convenient regional gateway, with high-speed Sanyo Shinkansen connections linking the city with major destinations across western Japan, including Okayama.
The new Hiroshima service is part of Korean Air’s continued expansion across regional Japan. The airline has increased its Seoul Incheon to Aomori service to five flights per week for the summer season and expanded its Seoul Incheon to Okayama route to four flights per week.
Korean Air also operates daily services to Niigata and Komatsu, while a late-night service to Osaka Kansai provides passengers with additional flexibility when planning trips to Japan.
The Hiroshima route is expected to further improve connectivity between Seoul and the Chugoku region while supporting travel for both leisure and business passengers.
