5,000 Residents Celebrate SG61 at Our Tampines Hub with Concert, Community Tributes and Fireworks

Around 5,000 residents gathered at Our Tampines Hub today for Our Tampines: Beyond Heartbeats, a National Day celebration featuring live performances, community activities, a tribute to local Tampines residents and a fireworks finale.

The celebration brought residents of different ages and backgrounds together, reinforcing Our Tampines Hub’s role as a community space where people can connect and celebrate Singapore’s National Day.

The day began with the National Day Observance Ceremony, attended by more than 300 residents, grassroots leaders and community partners. The ceremony provided an opportunity for the community to come together and mark the occasion with a shared expression of national pride.

In the evening, the Our Tampines: Beyond Heartbeats National Day Concert took centre stage. Qara Rosa Batucada, an Afro Brazilian percussion ensemble known for its energetic drumming and choreography, opened the concert with a lively performance.

The line up then featured homegrown artistes Tay Kewei, Alfred Sim, Tabitha Nauser, Amni Musfirah and Angel Vaishilee. Sebastian Tan, better known as Broadway Beng, hosted the evening as emcee.

Residents were also invited to become part of the performances, with Wushu and Zumba fitness groups, Team Singapore and Circus of Altrades cheerleaders leading an interactive audience segment that turned spectators into active participants.

One of the evening’s highlights was a tribute to the seven “Tampines Giants”, recognising individuals whose contributions have helped shape the Tampines community. Their stories highlighted values including neighbourliness, community participation and service, while recognising the role everyday residents play in building a stronger community.

Beyond the concert, residents could take part in interactive activities around Our Tampines Hub. These included Drifto, an indoor electric drift experience, as well as Beyond Batik: Heritage Patterns, Sustainable Futures, where participants transformed batik fabric scraps into new creations while learning more about the art form’s cross-cultural heritage.

The celebrations concluded with a live screening of the National Day Parade. Residents joined in familiar National Day songs before watching a fireworks display light up the Tampines skyline.

The fireworks finale brought the day’s celebrations to a close, with the event highlighting the community spirit and shared sense of pride that brought thousands of Tampines residents together for SG61.
