East Side Just Got Better with Japan’s Largest Gyukatsu Chain and Sets from Just $25

The East side just got even better. Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu, Japan’s largest gyukatsu speciality restaurant with more than 70 outlets worldwide, has officially opened its third Singapore outlet at Parkway Parade.

If the name sounds familiar, that’s because the brand has already built quite a following in Singapore. Since opening its first outlet at Raffles City in 2023, diners have been willing to queue for its signature gyukatsu, with the second outlet at One Holland Village proving just as popular. Now, those staying in the East no longer have to travel across the island to enjoy the experience.

Unlike your usual tonkatsu, Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu features premium beef that’s lightly coated and fried until perfectly medium rare.

Every Zen Set comes with a personal konro grill, so you can finish each slice to your preferred doneness at the table.

It is part of what makes dining here so enjoyable, especially when you can customise every bite with an assortment of Japanese condiments including Kyoto-style curry, fresh wasabi, dashi soy sauce, sansho pepper salt, gyukatsu sauce and the restaurant’s signature onsen egg. Every set also includes free-flow rice and cabbage!

One of the most popular orders is the Signature Half-and-Half Gyukatsu Zen ($29/$32), which lets you enjoy the best of two cuts. Pair the restaurant’s signature sirloin with tenderloin, beef tongue, chuck flap or even the prized Miyazaki A5 Wagyu if you’re feeling a little indulgent.

The Sirloin Gyukatsu Zen ($25) is a classic for a reason. Expect a juicy, tender cut with a crispy golden crust that stays beautifully pink inside before you sear it to your liking. If you prefer something leaner, the Tenderloin offers a softer bite without sacrificing flavour, while the Chuck Flap stands out for its rich marbling and beefy taste. Beef tongue fans will appreciate the Beef Tongue Gyukatsu Zen ($37), which has a buttery flavour and satisfyingly chewy texture. For a proper treat, the A5 Miyazaki Sirloin Gyukatsu Zen ($55) showcases one of Japan’s finest wagyu cuts, prized for its intense marbling and melt-in-your-mouth richness.
