A New Era for Nightlife: Zouk Group Unveils Multi Million Dollar Revamp for 35th Anniversary, Reopens Mainroom and Phuture

Singapore nightlife is entering a brand new era as Zouk Group officially celebrates the reopening of its iconic Zouk Mainroom and Phuture concepts.

This momentous occasion marks the completion of a multi million dollar renovation across its flagship Clarke Quay home, effectively starting a new chapter for the beloved Singapore born nightlife institution. Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the brand this year, the extensive transformation introduces a much more versatile and modular venue.

Zouk Mainroom

It is specifically designed to host up to 3,500 guests collectively across Zouk Mainroom, Phuture and Capital.

The newly renovated spaces offer flexibility to support everything from traditional club nights and live performances to large scale product launches, corporate conferences, brand activations and immersive entertainment experiences.

The grand reopening comes at a crucial time when the nightlife landscape in Singapore continues to evolve far beyond the traditional club format.

Modern audiences are increasingly seeking dynamic experiences that beautifully bring together music, live performance, culture and a sense of community. Nightlife plays an undeniably important role in how a city gathers, connects and creates shared memories. For Zouk, this massive transformation is a direct response to these changing ways of gathering.

However, the brand remains true to the pivotal role it has played in the after dark culture of Singapore for 35 years. The refreshed venue is designed to support this next chapter, giving Zouk significantly greater flexibility to host a wider spectrum of artists and audiences while retaining the music led energy that has long defined the brand.

Andrew Li, the CEO of Zouk Group, noted that Zouk has never stood still. He explained that from their original Jiak Kim location to Clarke Quay, they have always evolved with the city and the people who come through their doors.

Led by internationally acclaimed creative partners Josh Held Design and Superlative, the refreshed Zouk has been thoughtfully conceived around the core pillars of flexibility, scale and experience.

Mainroom, Phuture and Capital are designed as distinct yet highly adaptable environments. Each area serves a different audience profile and event function while remaining part of a much larger connected ecosystem.

Phuture

At the core of the redesign is modularity.

While the venues operate independently and are separated by audio walls, the spaces can also be fully opened up and integrated into a larger seamless environment whenever required. This gives organisers fantastic flexibility in managing guest flow and staging within a single venue ecosystem, accommodating a combined modular capacity of up to 3,500 guests. To break it down specifically, Zouk Mainroom can hold 1,939 guests, Phuture accommodates 732 guests, and Capital fits 542 guests.

Beyond sheer scale, the transformation introduces significantly upgraded production and technical capabilities. The new spaces feature extensive audio, visual and lighting infrastructure.

Highlights include next generation sound systems engineered for both DJ sets and live performances, alongside 12 metre wide high resolution LED walls designed for powerful visual storytelling. There is also a redesigned main entrance for Zouk Mainroom and Phuture featuring a streamlined flow for an elevated guest journey. For those seeking luxury, a premium VIP sofa experience with plush seating is now located right behind the DJ booth, delivering front row access like never before.

To celebrate this impressive milestone, Zouk hosted an exclusive closed door party on Wednesday, 17 June. The event brought together local media, tastemakers, and friends of the brand for an exclusive first look at the new transformed venue.

Bringing the Future Nostalgia theme of the night to life, homegrown singer and songwriter Iman Fandi took to the stage for a rousing live performance. She debuted her brand new single titled IT IS, before thrilling the crowd with a remixed version of her hit song Out Of My Mind, which was created in collaboration with resident DJ Caden.

Looking ahead, Zouk Group will officially launch Rally Clubhouse later this month, presenting a new social space targeted at the younger generation where creative programming comes to life.
