The Pokémon Company is celebrating 30 years since the release of Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Green Version in Japan in 1996 with a major series of events and initiatives across Asia, marking what is set to be the largest regional Pokémon celebration to date.

Under the Pokémon Asia 30th Anniversary umbrella, festivities will span seven cities including Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Hong Kong. The celebrations will feature a wide range of fan experiences such as PokéXciting! events, Pokémon Run activities, Pokémon Trading Card Game programmes, Pokémon GO initiatives, shopping mall activations, and more.
As part of the rollout, The Pokémon Company will launch the Pokémon Asia 30th Anniversary Official Site on 3 June at 12.00pm JST. The site will be available in multiple languages including English, Traditional Chinese, Thai, and Indonesian, offering fans across the region easy access to updates and announcements.
The official site features a festive design highlighting familiar starter Pokémon from different generations, presented in a celebratory theme. Beyond news updates, the platform also serves as a digital archive where fans can revisit Pokémon’s origins and explore its history and storylines, creating both a nostalgic and informative experience.
A key highlight of the anniversary campaign is PokéXciting!, which will serve as large scale citywide Pokémon celebrations across five Asian cities. Each location will host its own unique themed experience as part of the regional takeover style event series.
The confirmed PokéXciting! schedule includes Kuala Lumpur on 12 to 13 September 2026, Taipei on 10 to 11 October 2026, Singapore on 7 to 8 November 2026, Manila on 23 to 24 January 2027, and Bangkok on 13 to 14 February 2027.
