A Better Coffee Ritual for Busy Mornings: Philips Baristina Launches in Singapore

Coffee culture in Singapore has been shifting fast. Home café setups are everywhere now, from TikTok-worthy kitchen counters to people upgrading their daily routines with better beans and machines. It makes sense too. With the city’s busy work culture, long hours and constant rushing between places, not everyone has the time to queue for café coffee every morning.

Launched in Singapore on 4 June 2026 as part of its Southeast Asian debut, Philips is tapping into this lifestyle with the Baristina, a compact bean-to-cup espresso machine designed to make fresh coffee feel effortless, even for beginners.

Positioned as “Real Espresso, Made Simple”, the Baristina aims to bridge the gap between capsule convenience and traditional espresso machines, delivering freshly ground bean-to-cup espresso in under 60 seconds.

Instead of the usual complicated steps that come with traditional espresso machines, Baristina uses a simple portafilter-style system. You slot in the handle and with one swipe, the machine takes over. It grinds the beans, doses, tamps and brews the espresso automatically, delivering a fresh shot of coffee in under a minute. Once it is done, you simply press a button on the handle and the coffee puck pops out easily, eliminating the need to struggle with stuck grounds or messy clean-up.

Unlike capsule systems, Baristina gives users the freedom to choose their preferred coffee beans, creating a more personalised coffee experience with every cup. Equipped with a 16-bar pressure pump, the machine is designed to produce rich aroma, full-bodied flavour and a café-style crema while maintaining a fuss-free brewing experience.

The idea is to bring the convenience of capsule machines, but with the flavour and aroma of freshly ground coffee beans. It is also compact, which fits well into Singapore homes where space is often limited.

Available in Black and Milky White, the machine features a clean, minimalist design that blends easily into most kitchen setups without taking up too much counter space. Users can also customise the look with interchangeable portafilter handles available in a range of finishes, including black, milky white, mango yellow and wood.

To mark the Singapore launch, Philips has partnered with Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, one of Singapore’s most well-loved local roasters, to create a limited-edition Baristina Blend. The collaboration reflects a shared goal of making great coffee more accessible while showcasing the benefits of freshly roasted beans brewed at home.

Specially crafted for the machine, the blend delivers chocolatey and creamy notes that are smooth and easy to drink. It is bold enough to feel like a proper espresso, yet balanced enough for everyday enjoyment. The partnership also highlights how freshly roasted beans, ground moments before brewing, can deliver richer aroma, fuller body and deeper flavour in every cup.

Multi-hyphenate Glenn Yong is the brand ambassador for Baristina in Singapore.

He shared, “I’m excited to be the ambassador for the Philips Baristina machine. I really like things to be quick, fast and efficient, and with this machine, it takes just a few simple steps to get the perfect coffee for my busy mornings.”

For Glenn, who is frequently on set and in front of the camera, the machine aligns well with his fast-paced lifestyle. With early call times and packed schedules, having a quick and reliable coffee routine helps him start the day on the right note. He also shared that coffee is part of his morning preparation, helping him feel refreshed and ready before stepping in front of the camera.

Beyond convenience, the Baristina also offers a more sustainable alternative to capsule-based systems. The machine does not require single-use coffee pods, and used coffee grounds can be easily ejected through the portafilter for disposal or composting.

To celebrate the launch, customers can also enjoy exclusive gift-with-purchase items from the Tiong Hoe collaboration, including the limited-edition Baristina Blend and specially curated merchandise while stocks last.

The Philips Baristina is now available exclusively at Harvey Norman stores in Singapore, with online availability through selected platforms including Shopee.
