The Enabling Village will come alive this June as SG Enable teams up with JangandFox Huglings to present the inaugural Summer Playground, a two-day inclusive event taking place from 20 to 21 June 2026.

Held at 20 Lengkok Bahru from 10am to 6pm daily, the event is designed as a family-friendly space focused on inclusion, sensory discovery and shared experiences where people of all abilities can connect. Admission is free for all visitors, with selected workshops requiring pre-registration or ticketed entry due to limited slots.
At the heart of the initiative is the aim to place persons with disabilities at the centre of the experience, encouraging meaningful interaction between families, children, caregivers and the disability community. Visitors can also enjoy complimentary activities, including goodie bags for the first 500 participants who register at the Nest entrance and subscribe to the mailing list, while stocks last.
Across the weekend, more than 30 inclusive activities will be available, ranging from hands-on workshops to interactive village-wide programmes. Families can explore sensory-focused experiences such as air dry claymaking, collagraph printing, paper circuits, shrink art, paracord weaving and upcycling plushie making, alongside recreational activities including a bouncy castle, mini basketball and a popcorn station.
A series of guided inclusive workshops will also run throughout the event. These include Inclusive Chess by Lion City Inclusive Chess, Taiko Drum Workshop by Mangrove Learning, Open Minds, Open Doors Parent Workshop by Playeum, K-Fitness by Me2, Family Challenge Quest by Ludus Lab, Open Rehearsal by HER Playback Theatre and Inclusive Yoga by BlissYoga SG. These sessions are designed to promote learning, confidence, wellbeing and empathy through shared participation between persons with disabilities, caregivers and the general public.
Beyond workshops, the Enabling Village will host a variety of open-access activities. Highlights include a stamp rally across four locations, a board games mixer space, a one-hand magic performance by Jackie Chionh, Music Delights U & Me by MS Academy featuring instrument exploration and jamming sessions, as well as Splash & Smile Day by Little Splashes Aquatics, which introduces participants to swimming through a specially designed accessible ramp system.
Evening programming includes Movies Under the Stars, featuring outdoor silent cinema screenings powered by Cinewav, with The Greatest Showman on 20 June and IF on 21 June.

Adding a storytelling dimension to the event, official IP partner JangandFox introduces the Huglings, characters designed to guide children and families through inclusive behaviours. Through simple prompts such as “Can I play with you?”, “Would you like to join me?” and “Do you need any help?”, the initiative encourages kindness, empathy and interaction across all activity zones.
The Summer Playground at Enabling Village is also sponsored by Gardenia and held in support of the National Family Festival 2026, an initiative by the Families for Life Council that celebrates family bonding through community activities across Singapore.
Organisers say the event aims to create lasting habits of inclusion beyond the weekend by turning shared play into meaningful understanding, where families learn that inclusion can be practised in small everyday actions.
The Summer Playground at Enabling Village offers complimentary entry for all visitors, with selected programmes requiring tickets or pre-registration depending on capacity.
More information on the full programme is available through official Enabling Village channels.
