The milestone was commemorated with the opening of Rainforest Wild Adventure East, the final major development in the extensive redevelopment project. The ceremony was officiated by Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister in charge of Trade Relations, Ms Grace Fu, alongside representatives from Mandai Wildlife Group, Temasek Holdings and the Singapore Tourism Board. Nearly 300 guests from industry and education sectors, as well as students, attended the event.

Built on a site that has welcomed Singaporeans for more than 50 years, the Mandai Wildlife Reserve brings together wildlife parks, nature themed attractions and public green spaces within a single integrated destination. What began with the establishment of Jurong Bird Park and Singapore Zoo in the 1970s has evolved into a world class precinct that now attracts approximately 4.5 million local and international visitors annually.

A key highlight of the completion is the official opening of Rainforest Wild Adventure East, which expands Asia’s first adventure based wildlife park into two distinct zones. Covering 20 hectares, the park recreates naturalistic rainforest habitats inspired by ecosystems in Asia and Africa, blending wildlife encounters with immersive adventure experiences.

Visitors can take part in activities such as Adventure+ and Black Adventure while exploring animal habitats from unique perspectives. A treetop rope course places guests high within the forest canopy while observing okapis below, while a primate climb offers elevated views of Diana monkeys in their habitat.

The new zone is also home to the Mandai Wildlife Centre, the precinct’s third wildlife hospital operated by conservation arm Mandai Nature. Dedicated to treating and rehabilitating rescued native wildlife across Singapore, the facility will care for species including Sunda pangolins, Sunda colugos, pythons and bats. A public viewing gallery allows visitors to learn about veterinary care and rehabilitation efforts, while selected treatment rooms will be visible to the public when the facility becomes fully operational in July.

Mandai Wildlife Group also introduced Glamping in the Wild as the umbrella brand for its overnight accommodation experiences. The newly opened Crocodile Lodge, located within Rainforest Wild Adventure East, features 20 tents overlooking a crocodile habitat and can accommodate up to four guests per tent. Packages include access to Adventure+ activities across both park zones, meals and exclusive evening programmes such as survival knot tying sessions and outdoor movie screenings. Crocodile Lodge joins Reservoir Retreat, previously known as Colugo Camp, providing visitors with two distinct glamping experiences. Bookings are now open, with stays beginning from 12 June 2026.

Beyond physical developments, Mandai Wildlife Group announced a series of partnerships aimed at strengthening community engagement. The Group will extend its collaboration with the Families for Life Council through programmes and events that encourage families to bond through nature experiences. It is also partnering youth community organisation For Real Co. to foster deeper connections between young Singaporeans and the natural environment.

Later this year, Mandai Wildlife Group will collaborate with the National Youth Council under the SG Youth Plan, offering learning journeys and conservation dialogues that provide opportunities for young people and youth leaders to engage with wildlife conservation issues.

The destination is also set to partner with Zig by ComfortDelGro through a new driver ambassador programme. Selected drivers will receive specialised training to serve as ambassadors for both Singapore and the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, while all Zig drivers will enjoy complimentary access to the wildlife parks and attractions. Visitors can also expect promotional ride discounts to the precinct in the coming months. Another upcoming partnership with Community Chest will help support outreach initiatives for social service agencies and beneficiaries.

To coincide with the grand opening, Mandai Wildlife Group has launched its new destination brand campaign, “Imagine Wilder”. The campaign showcases the breadth of experiences available across the reserve’s five wildlife parks, two nature themed attractions and public green spaces. From close wildlife encounters and adventure activities to family friendly attractions, dining experiences and overnight stays, the campaign invites visitors to discover new ways of connecting with nature through more immersive experiences.

As part of the celebrations, local residents can enjoy a limited time two attraction visit pass offering savings of up to 30 per cent. Visitors can choose either Singapore Zoo or Rainforest Wild Adventure as their primary attraction and pair it with a second experience from River Wonders, Bird Paradise, Exploria or Curiosity Cove. The promotion will run from 1 June to 31 August 2026.

Local residents will also continue to enjoy preferential admission rates, complimentary entry during their birthday month and exclusive discounts at retail and food and beverage outlets. Concession pricing remains available for seniors and youths, while members of social service agencies will continue to receive complimentary year-round admission. Mandai Wildlife Group will also make local resident pricing more prominent on its website to make trip planning easier for visitors.

With the completion of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore now has a fully realised wildlife and nature destination that combines conservation, education, recreation and tourism within a single integrated precinct.
