Mercure, part of global hospitality group Accor, has officially opened Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima in Japan, marking a key milestone for the brand as it expands its footprint in the country. Located in Hiroshima’s vibrant Hatchobori district, the 182 room hotel is Accor’s first property in Hiroshima, the 20th Mercure hotel in Japan, and the second dual branded collaboration with Tokyu Stay.

The opening builds on the ongoing partnership between Accor and Tokyu Resorts and Stays Co., Ltd., combining Tokyu Stay’s expertise in medium and long stay accommodation with Mercure’s locally inspired design and global hospitality network. The hotel is designed to offer travellers a stay experience that reflects Hiroshima’s culture and character while maintaining modern comfort and functionality.

Strategically located just a two-minute walk from Hiroshima Electric Railway’s Hatchobori Station, Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima provides convenient access to the city’s shopping districts, dining spots and cultural attractions. Its central location positions it as a base for guests exploring Hiroshima’s historical landmarks, creative districts and evolving urban landscape.

The hotel’s design is inspired by Hiroshima’s identity as a “city of water”, with a concept titled Beauty of Water and Light. This theme draws from the city’s rivers, waterways and cityscape, which are reflected throughout the property. The hotel features 182 contemporary guestrooms designed to cater to both short stay visitors and long stay guests, with a focus on comfort, practicality and flexibility.

Facilities include a Share Lounge operated by Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., offering a coworking and lifestyle space that is open to both hotel guests and local residents. The property also includes meeting rooms and a fitness centre, creating a multifunctional environment that supports both leisure and business travellers.

A strong emphasis has been placed on local collaboration, with Hiroshima based creators and businesses integrated into the guest experience. Offerings include craft bread developed in partnership with long established bakery Aloft and coffee from Hiroshima roastery Mount Coffee. These partnerships aim to highlight the region’s culinary culture and craftsmanship across different touchpoints of the stay.
