Sun PhuQuoc Airways has officially announced the launch of scheduled services between Singapore and Phu Quoc, strengthening air connectivity between two of Asia’s most recognised island destinations. The new route also marks a key milestone as the first full-service airline to operate on the Singapore to Phu Quoc sector, expanding travel options for both business and leisure travellers.

Ticket sales for the new route opened on 20 May, with the inaugural flight scheduled for 25 July 2026. The airline’s entry introduces a new premium-focused offering on a route that has so far been served mainly by low-cost carriers with daily services, signalling a shift towards higher-end travel demand between the two destinations.
The Singapore to Phu Quoc service will operate under flight number 9G720, departing Singapore at 14:20 and arriving in Phu Quoc at 15:05. The return flight, 9G721, will depart Phu Quoc at 10:35 and arrive in Singapore at 13:20. The airline will offer both Business Class and Economy Class cabins, positioning itself as a full-service carrier on the route.
Passengers can expect an all-inclusive onboard experience, including hot meals, standard checked baggage allowance, and a modern wireless inflight entertainment system. The Business Class cabin is designed with a focus on comfort, privacy, and priority services, catering to corporate travellers and premium leisure guests seeking a more seamless travel experience.
To mark the launch, Sun PhuQuoc Airways is offering promotional fares starting from SGD133 one-way for select flights within one month of the inaugural service, subject to availability. Travellers departing Singapore for Phu Quoc can also enjoy a 20% discount on base fares during the promotional period from 20 May to 19 June 2026.
In addition to fare promotions, passengers flying on the new route will receive complimentary tickets to the Sun World Hon Thom cable car and enjoy exclusive discounts of up to 30% on accommodation, dining, spa, and entertainment services within Sun Group’s integrated resort ecosystem in southern Phu Quoc.
The airline said the new route underscores growing connectivity between Singapore and Phu Quoc, two island destinations that offer contrasting but complementary travel experiences. Singapore is a major global financial and aviation hub, while Phu Quoc is known for its tropical beaches, luxury resorts, and expanding tourism infrastructure. The flight time between the two destinations is under two hours, making it an attractive option for short getaways.
Phu Quoc’s visa exemption policy for international visitors continues to boost its appeal among Singapore-based travellers and expatriates. According to Skyscanner data, searches for Phu Quoc from Singapore have risen by up to 184% year on year, placing the island among the top trending destinations for 2026.
Singapore’s position as a major transit hub is also expected to support demand for the new route, with Changi Airport handling up to 70 million passengers annually. Sun PhuQuoc Airways said its presence in Singapore will open additional access to Phu Quoc for international travellers connecting through the city.
The airline’s expansion is supported by Sun Group’s broader tourism ecosystem, including its operation of Phu Quoc International Airport and its partnership with Changi Airports International, the organisation behind Changi Airport’s recognition as the World’s Best Airport for 13 consecutive years. This collaboration is part of ongoing efforts to develop Phu Quoc International Airport into a destination airport with consistent service standards across the travel journey.
