Cosford Container Park is set to transform into a vibrant fitness and community hub this weekend as it hosts a large scale sports festival featuring armwrestling competitions, children’s athletics activities, CPR awareness workshops, and outdoor movie screenings.

Bringing together competition, wellness, education, and entertainment in one open-air venue, the event aims to create an inclusive experience for Singaporeans of all ages and fitness levels.
The highlight of the weekend will be the Singapore Armwrestling Youth Championships 2026, organised in partnership with Singapore Armwrestling (SGAW). Taking place from 11.30am to 5.30pm on Saturday, 23 May 2026, the championship will showcase some of Singapore’s most promising young armwrestlers competing across multiple age and weight categories.
The competition will feature three divisions including Sub-Junior 15 for athletes aged 14 to 15, Junior 18 for competitors aged 16 to 18, and Youth 23 for participants aged 19 to 23. Categories will range from under 55kg to open weight divisions, with eligibility based on athletes’ ages as of 31 December 2026.
Spectators can expect an energetic arena atmosphere as competitors battle through intense matches and demonstrate their strength and technique on the armwrestling table.
Following the youth competition, the spotlight shifts to the Hao Yao Challenge Trophy 2026 from 6pm to 8pm. The tournament pays tribute to Ang Hao Yao, who helped pioneer competitive armwrestling in Singapore and achieved second place at the 1992 World Wristwrestling Championships in Petaluma, California.
The evening event will adopt a straight knockout “Open Brawl” format featuring 16 pullers aged between 13 and 75 years old competing with their right arms in best-of-three matches. Competitors will battle from the Round of 16 through to the Grand Final, with the champion receiving SGAW’s largest Challenge Trophy to date, standing 75cm tall and valued at $200. Performance trophies will also be awarded to second and third place finishers.

Families and younger visitors can also look forward to Kids’ Athletics activities organised by Club Zoom Track & Field. The programme introduces children to a variety of sports challenges including skipping challenges, standing broad jumps, medicine ball throws, javelin throw trials, sprint and hurdle activities, as well as tug of war sessions open to both children and adults.

The event will also place a strong emphasis on public health and safety through a CPR and AED Awareness Booth hosted by the Singapore Civil Defence Force and National Fire and Emergency Preparedness Council. Running across both 23 and 24 May from 1pm to 9pm, the booth will offer hands-on guidance from trained instructors to help members of the public learn essential life-saving skills and understand how CPR and AED usage can save lives during emergencies.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday, 24 May with open-air sports movie screenings on Cosford’s LED screen. Visitors can unwind with films celebrating the determination, sacrifice, and triumph that define competitive sport after two days packed with activities.
The event will be held at Cosford Container Park, located at 30 Cosford Road, Singapore 499550, and admission is open to the public.
