Robert Downey Jr. Named Godparent of Disney Adventure Ahead of Singapore Maiden Voyage

Robert Downey Jr. has been announced as the official godparent of the Disney Adventure, the newest and largest vessel in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. The announcement comes ahead of the ship’s maiden voyage next month from its home port in Singapore.

A Marvel Legacy at Sea

Downey’s portrayal of Tony Stark/Iron Man helped anchor the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the highest-grossing film franchise in history. His journey as the iconic superhero reached its climax with Avengers: Endgame, which grossed over $2.79 billion worldwide. A Disney Legend since 2019, Downey will next appear as Doctor Doom in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, opening December 18.

The Disney Adventure brings over a century of Disney storytelling to life across seven themed areas, including Marvel-inspired experiences. Highlights include:

• Marvel Landing: Featuring Tony Stark’s Ironcycle Test Run, the first roller coaster on a Disney Cruise Line ship and the longest at sea.
• Disney Imagination Garden: Hosts Avengers Assemble!, a live stage show packed with stunts, special effects, and action-packed battles between Marvel heroes and villains.
• Oceaneer Club – Marvel WEB Workshop: Young guests can test prototype Super Hero suits and engage in training simulations with top-secret Avengers technology.

Beyond Marvel, the ship offers Disney’s signature entertainment, including character meet-and-greets, Broadway-style shows, themed staterooms, and over 20 dining and lounge options featuring international and Asian-inspired cuisines.
