Firefly Bar has launched an imaginative new cocktail collection titled “In Pursuit of the Firefly,” a whimsical and story-driven menu that celebrates the glowing insect at the heart of the bar’s identity. Designed to be both playful and educational, the new offering invites guests on a multi-sensory journey through inventive flavour combinations, thoughtful design, and narrative storytelling.
The menu is structured into four thematic chapters: Etymology, Ecosystem, Luminescence, and Mythology, each exploring different dimensions of the firefly’s symbolism and natural world.
In the Etymology section, Where Is The Cricket combines Stranger & Sons Gin, ginger falernum, cricket protein, chocolate and banana, kaffir lime, clarified milk, and mixed spices. The drink symbolises the harmony of the firefly’s three body parts: head, thorax, and abdomen, working as one.
From the Ecosystem chapter, Blue Moon blends Michter’s American Whiskey and Michter’s Rye redistilled with Sri Sindhorn Tea, peach, blue spirulina, and Lustau Amontillado. The cocktail captures the magical moment fireflies illuminate the dusk sky, glowing blue to mirror their connection with moonlight.
Under Luminescence, Tres Elementos features Ron Matusalem Gran Reserva 15, Aperol, bergamot liqueur, pineapple distillate, and sparkling tomato water. Garnished with tomato, pineapple, and kiwi, it reflects the optical illusion of a firefly’s light appearing orange, yellow, and green simultaneously. Another standout, Gorgeous Lady in Red, combines Lady Trieu Contemporary Gin, hibiscus-infused Tito’s Handmade Vodka, pomegranate Shiraz reduction, Teara Sakura Japanese Liqueur, citrus, and a decorative bubble, embodying the firefly’s quiet yet captivating glow.
From the Mythology chapter, Journey to Amphawa pays tribute to Thailand’s famed riverside town known for its floating markets and night-time firefly displays. The cocktail features Phraya Rum 8 Years, Prakaan Select Cask, kaffir lime, lychee, coconut, lime, vegan foam, and aromatic spray, evoking both nostalgia and natural beauty.
The table of contents presents cocktails along a visual axis ranging from Fruity & Light to Complex & Bitter, and from Strong & Bold to Sour & Refreshing, helping guests quickly identify their preferred style. Each drink is showcased on a dedicated illustrated page detailing its story, flavour notes, colour, glassware, garnish, and texture. Subtle descriptors: vegetal, herbaceous, fruity, or gently spiced, enhance the educational aspect, while a moon icon indicates its flavour category.
Beyond the signature creations, Firefly Bar introduces three ultra-luxury cocktails featuring world-renowned spirits. Highlights include an Old Fashioned variation crafted with The Macallan A Night on Earth, the Firefly Azul Margarita made with Clase Azul Reposado, and an elevated Sazerac using Louis XIII.
For guests seeking alcohol-free options, the bar presents a thoughtfully curated zero-proof collection described as “all buzz, no booze,” featuring creative combinations built around local fruits, teas, and spices.
The new cocktail programme is complemented by Firefly Bar’s expansive spirits collection, spanning more than 370 bottles across 20 pages. All selections are available by 45ml pour or by the bottle.
Guests can also explore interactive experiences such as the Tipple Trolley, offering tableside martinis, negronis, and classic cocktails, or a Build Your Own Gin & Tonic journey. Through a guided flow chart, patrons select tonic brands, customise garnishes, and enhance their drink with Silpin Edible Perfume Aroma, creating a personalised sensory experience.
