Income Insurance has announced the return of the Income Eco Run (IER) 2026, its flagship sustainability event, set to take place on 19 April 2026 at the Bayfront Event Space. Now in its fourth edition, the carbon-neutral run continues to champion climate-positive action under its longstanding theme, “How Far Will You Go for Zero Waste?”

Building on the momentum of previous years, Income Eco Run 2026 expands its inclusivity while deepening its commitment to zero-waste living and sustainable everyday habits.
More Run Categories for All Ages, and Pets

This year’s event introduces new distance options designed to welcome even more participants, from young children to pet owners. Alongside the existing 21.1KM, 15KM, 10KM, 5KM and 3KM categories, children aged 4 to 9 can join the 700m Kids Dash, while those aged 10 to 12 can challenge themselves with a new 1.2KM run.
The popular Pets category also expands with two distance options, 700m and 1.2KM, open to both dogs and cats, with up to two owners accompanying each pet.
These additions reinforce Income Eco Run’s positioning as a family-friendly event that brings individuals, families and communities together through shared experiences centred on sustainability and well-being.
Turning Kilometres into Climate Action
Income Insurance will once again donate $1 for every kilometre clocked during the run in support of a green cause. Previous contributions have funded sustainability-focused learning journeys for educators and students, helping to nurture the next generation of eco-warriors.
Since its inception in 2023, Income Eco Run has delivered measurable environmental impact. To date:
- Close to 14,000 participants have taken part
- 1,348kg of source materials have been saved through the use of recycled materials for event tees and kids’ medals
- 41,000 plastic-free cups and banana peels were diverted from landfills in 2025 alone and composted by ENTO Industries using Black Soldier Fly larvae
- More than 150,000KM have been clocked, resulting in $160,000 donated to green causes and environmental education initiatives
Strengthening Zero-Waste Practices
IER 2026 will continue to push the boundaries of sustainable event management through a series of zero-waste initiatives:
- Foopak compostable, plastic-free paper cups at hydration points
- Run bibs that are 65% smaller than industry standards to reduce paper usage
- A “wear-your-own-tee” initiative encouraging participants to reuse existing orange or running shirts
- Composting of organic waste such as banana peels, pet waste and paper cups by ENTO Industries
- E-medals replacing physical medals for most categories, while kids’ medals will be made from upcycled plastic bottle caps by Plastify
- Carbon emissions offset based on estimated travel to run pack collection, event day transport and production of purchased event T-shirts
Eco Learning Journeys Beyond Race Day
New for 2026 is the “Eco Experience” initiative, a series of post-event sustainability learning journeys designed for children and parents.
Participants can explore:
- How e-waste is recycled at ALBA’s facility
- How plastic-free paper cups and banana peels from the run are composted by ENTO Industries
- An interactive sustainability tour by WWF-Singapore at FairPrice’s flagship sustainable store, focusing on eco labels and greener grocery habits
Children can register as parent-child pairs for these excursions, which aim to make sustainability education engaging and hands-on. Slots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Optional Sustainability-Themed Event Tee

In line with its reuse-first philosophy, Income Eco Run 2026 will offer an optional event T-shirt instead of making it the default. Designed in collaboration with local illustrator Tammy Chew of @teechewpaper, the $10 tee is made from recycled water bottles turned into yarn and features a timeless design intended for continued wear beyond race day.
This opt-in approach reinforces the event’s commitment to reducing unnecessary waste from single-use merchandise.
