[Review] Eat Your Way to a Million Dollars? Kai Duck Launches Festive Set with Lottery Tickets

Duck specialist Kai Duck is ushering in the Year of the Horse with a fun element by launching a “Millionaire Chinese New Year Set” alongside a robust lineup of dine-in options. Led by Group Executive Chef Fung Chi Keung, the restaurant located at Ngee Ann City is offering a mix of traditional Cantonese favourites and innovative modern creations for the festive period.

For those looking to celebrate at home, the restaurant has introduced a unique “Millionaire Chinese New Year Set” takeaway option.

The hook for this $598+ set (serves 5) is that every purchase comes with a complimentary Big Sweep Ticket, giving diners a literal shot at becoming a millionaire while you enjoy your reunion dinner. The takeaway set is headlined by a Prosperity Smoked Salmon Yu Sheng in Olive Oil and a Supreme Fortune Pot, a pen cai packed with 15 premium ingredients including South African abalone, sea cucumber, fish maw, and braised pork belly.

Other items in this bundle include Steamed Half Sultan Fish, BBQ Pork, Wok-fried Glutinous Rice with Waxed Meat and Half Roasted Duck, and Pan-fried Glutinous Rice Cake.

Enjoy an early bird discount of 15% for orders placed between 1 January and 8 February 2026, or 10% off for orders between 9 and 15 February 2026.

For diners preferring the restaurant atmosphere, Kai Duck has curated specific sets for groups of 4, 6, and 10, namely the Harmony, Wonderful, Happiness, and Healthy sets.

We recently visited the restaurant to sample some of the key highlights from these festive menus.

Our tasting began with the Prosperity South Africa Abalone Yu Sheng in Olive Oil.

The dish offered great value, featuring generous servings of abalone that made for a luxurious start to the meal. To add to the theatric, for every order of the Yu Sheng, beyond just saying the usual auspicious greetings before the lo hei, the staff at Kai Duck will all gather to sing and dance for you, levelling up on the festive atmosphere.

We also sampled the BBQ Pork, which is marinated overnight for over 12 hours. It was executed well, presenting a texture that was fatty and flavorful without being too greasy, striking a pleasant balance for a rich cut of meat.

However, true to the restaurant’s name, the duck dishes were the clear highlight of the session.

We tried the Roasted Duck with “Black Truffle” Sauce, a signature item featured in the Harmony set. We loved this seasonal rendition. The aromatic truffle sauce paired beautifully with the crisp skin and tender meat of the roast duck.

Another interesting find was the Wok-fried Hot Pot Panda Rice with Bacon and Bolete Mushroom.

This dish uses “Panda Rice” imported from Szechuan, known for its translucent grains and firm texture. Served tableside, the fried rice had a great texture that was smooth and delightful to eat. It was slightly greasy, but in a way that felt satisfying rather than heavy.

To finish, we enjoyed the dual desserts of Chilled Mango Sago with Pomelo and Pan-fried Glutinous Rice Cake, which provided a sweet and traditional conclusion to the feast.

The dine-in sets are priced at $568++ for the 4-pax Harmony set, $838++ for the 6-pax Wonderful set, and range from $1,428++ to $1,688++ for the 10-pax Happiness and Healthy sets. The 10-pax menus also include the restaurant’s Signature Peking Duck sliced tableside.
