Chinese New Year 2026 is shaping up to be extra cute, thanks to Kele’s newest festive collaboration with Sanrio. The homegrown heritage brand is kicking off the season with the Kele Sanrio Collection, featuring six collectible Sanrio-designed tins, each filled with one of Kele’s six best-selling festive treats.
Each flavour is paired with one of Sanrio’s top six favourite characters, with the snack matching the personality of the character it represents. Inspired by spring garden florals, the tins feel festive yet modern, making them perfect for family gatherings, visiting relatives, or gifting to fellow Sanrio fans.
Hello Kitty leads the lineup with Kele’s #1 selling Golden Pineapple Balls, and it’s easy to see why it is a crowd favourite. The pastry is light and buttery, and the pineapple filling hits just the right sweet spot without being too jelak.
Next, Pompompurin’s Traditional Pineapple Tarts lean fully into nostalgia, with a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture that tastes like the kind you hope to snack on during CNY visits. Kuromi’s Double Cheese Balls were my favourite surprise. Rich, indulgent, and super shiok, the crispy shell cracks open to reveal a bold, double-layered pineapple centre. Sweet and savoury at the same time, it feels a little unexpected and slightly naughty, very on-brand for the mischievous Kuromi.
For something lighter, Cinnamoroll’s Grandparents’ Almond Cookies are gentle and homely, with a buttery bite that’s not too sweet. Shaped like little flowers and baked to a soft white colour, they’re as cute and comforting as Cinnamoroll himself.
For a more savoury option, My Melody’s Shrimp Rolls are light, flaky, and packed with a fragrant shrimp filling that carries a subtle umami spice, giving each bite a gentle kick without being overpowering. Pochacco rounds things off with Chicken Floss Rolls, wrapped in triangular pastry and generously filled with savoury chicken floss.
Beyond the tins, the Sanrio fun continues with adorable merchandise and festive freebies.\ From 8 January 2026, in-store purchases that include at least one Sanrio Collection tin will also qualify for gifts with purchase, including a Sanrio red packet set, a Hello Kitty Enamel Pin Set, or a Hello Kitty Drawstring Bag, depending on minimum spend, while stocks last.
Kele is also introducing a brand-new addition for 2026, the Petite Gold Tins. Compact and gift-friendly, they’re ideal for smaller households or as thoughtful festive add-ons. Despite their smaller size, they come with exciting new flavours including Seaweed Crispy Rolls, Lucky Lychee Cookies, and Nyonya Ondeh Ondeh Cookies, offering something different from the usual festive snacks.
Kele’s Classic Gold Tins also return this festive season, refreshed with an upgraded metallic gold finish for a more premium gifting look. These timeless tins remain a favourite for traditional visits and corporate gifting, with selected flavours like Golden Osmanthus, Matcha, and Earl Grey available exclusively in the gold tins for Chinese New Year 2026.
Following last year’s massive response, Kele’s Pokémon Collection is also back for 2026. These limited-edition tins were a huge hit last year, so if you’re a fan, better grab them before they sell out!
