As Chinese New Year approaches, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) come together once again to present CNY Family FUN (CNYFF) 2026, a festive celebration packed with culture, creativity and family-friendly activities in the heart of Singapore’s CBD.
Taking place from 30 January to 1 February 2026, CNYFF 2026 will feature 25 cultural programmes across SCCC and the Singapore Conference Hall (SCH). Designed to make traditional festivities engaging and accessible for modern families, the line-up includes children’s theatre performances, storytelling sessions, carousel rides, interactive photobooths and hands-on workshops for all ages.
Showcasing Singapore’s Rich Lion Dance Heritage
A key highlight of CNYFF 2026 is the free lion dance performances by five local troupes, happening on 31 January and 1 February 2026, from 1pm to 7pm at SCCC Level 1 Concourse. Audiences can look forward to experiencing the diversity of Singapore’s lion dance traditions, with performances spanning Fujian Green Lion Dance, Hainanese Lion Dance, Hakka Qilin Dance, Golden Lion Dance and Fo He Lion Dance — each offering its own distinctive style, rhythm and cultural roots.
Festive Art in the Sky
Adding a visual highlight to the celebrations is SCCC’s annual Chinese New Year roof garden art installation, Finding Har马ny. Featuring colourful horse sculptures grazing and galloping across the SCCC Roof Garden, the installation celebrates the Year of the Horse and will be on display daily from 10am to 10pm until 20 May 2026, offering visitors a vibrant photo-worthy experience long after the festival weekend.
Fun-Filled Activities for the Whole Family
CNYFF 2026 also offers a wide range of interactive programmes designed especially for children and families. Highlights include Children’s Lion and Dragon Dance Workshops, where young participants can learn basic movements and try their hand at traditional drums and cymbals, and a Roving Storytelling Experience that takes children on a playful quest around SCCC to uncover the meanings behind special Chinese New Year greetings.
At The “Ma”rket Place, visitors can enjoy craft activities such as couplet writing with seal stamping, accessories making and colouring, catch CNY-themed theatre performances, and sample complimentary festive snacks.
Collect, Explore and Redeem
Festivalgoers can also take part in a mission-based quest across SCCC and SCH. By completing selected Chinese New Year activities and collecting stamps, visitors can redeem festive rewards including SCCC’s limited-edition red packets, snack packs or drink vouchers, while stocks last.
Open to the public, CNY Family FUN 2026 offers a mix of free and ticketed programmes.
