[Review] A Festive Take-Home Feast Made for Sharing with Aburi-EN

As the year winds down, the festive season can feel especially busy, with packed schedules and multiple gatherings to juggle. Aburi-EN’s Snowy Christmas menu offers a comforting, fuss-free take-home option for family gatherings and cosy celebrations at home, running from 3 December 2025 onwards so diners can plan around their schedules with ease.

The highlight of the menu is the Signature Festive Meat Platter, priced at $49.90 and available for takeaway and delivery at all Aburi-EN outlets. Designed to feed four to six people, it is ideal for home gatherings where everyone can eat at a relaxed pace. After going through the entire platter, what stands out is how well-balanced it feels, with enough variety to keep things interesting throughout the meal.

The Honey BBQ pork ribs bring a familiar festive sweetness that is comforting and easy to enjoy. The grilled pork loin offers a more savoury bite with a firmer texture, which helps balance out the ribs, while the grilled chicken thigh is juicy and tender, making it a safe and satisfying option for diners of all ages.

One of the more indulgent components on the platter is the crab cream croquette. Crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside, it adds a welcome textural contrast and makes for a particularly satisfying bite in between the grilled meats.

The sides, which include waffle fries, corn, and other vegetables, help round out the platter nicely. They prevent the spread from feeling too meat-heavy and are especially appreciated when sharing with children or picky eaters at the table.

Tying everything together is the Snowy Mozzarella Cream Cheese sauce. While it sounds rich, using it as a dip allows everyone to control how indulgent they want the meal to be. It works surprisingly well with almost everything on the platter, from the grilled meats to the sides, and adds a festive touch without becoming too jelak.

For those who prefer individual bowls, Aburi-EN’s signature donburis are also available to complement the platter. The Wagyu Suji Don at $17.90 features slow-stewed A4 or A5 Miyazaki and Australian Wagyu with seasonal vegetables, finished with an onsen egg over rice. Seafood lovers may enjoy the Aburi-EN Kaisen Don at $22.90, which comes topped with grilled prawn, unagi, salmon, scallops, and shimeji mushrooms for a satisfying mix of flavours and textures from the sea.
