[Review] Fireplace by Bedrock Launches Unlimited Wood Fired Brunch with Festive Treats at One Holland Village

This holiday season, Fireplace by Bedrock at One Holland Village is having a special Festive Fireside Brunch offer. Every Sunday, you can enjoy unlimited wood-fire dishes, served in small, bite-sized portions with premium ingredients for just $68++ per pax. Dessert is also included, with five different sweet treats to choose from.

Located at a corner unit on the top floor of the sprawling integrated mall, Fireplace is a great place for brunch to hang on a lazy Sunday afternoon, with both indoor and outdoor seatings available.

The open kitchen adds to the over buzz and it is fun seeing your orders getting preprared and sent out the kitchen.

My dad and I went for a brunch tasting last weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves dining there.

You can start off your brunch with a few of their delicious appetisers, such as their watermelon feta salad, crisp, fresh and sweet.

Or you could try their romaine lettuce, which is packed with cheeses and nicely charred.

Delicious breads are also available, with their flatbread as well as their signature bone marrow toast. The latter is not as funky as the name may suggests and presents both sweet and savoury notes.

You can also try their seafood offerings, with their Chili Tiger Prawns that pack just the right amount of spice.

Then there’s their ox tongue, which may sound off-putting, but is in fact, a delicacy that is tender and flavourful, served with mash and pickled onions.

They also have a selection of side dishes, from asparagus and mushrooms to festive specials.

Their smashed fingerling potatoes may seem like something to avoid at a buffet with all the carbs, but due to the small portion sizes, it ended up quite manageable, and was probably our favourite side dish with its unique sweet and savoury notes.

Other sides include their shiitake mushrooms, lightly charred and served on a bed of mushroom puree;

asparagus, served with diced mala seasoning;

and truffle mac n’ cheese, which we did not manage to try as we were too full by then.

Their festive specials are quite unique, with another prawn dish in their Prawn Arroz Caldoso, this time on a bed of risotto.

They also have a dish called Turducken, a kind of stuffed turkey with a side of cranberry jam. Perfect for the festive season.

The meat dishes is where the restaurant really shines.

For the mains, they offer a wide variety of items from the sea, the land and the sky, with crispy Pork Belly wood-fired for six hours;

Roasted Lamb Leg wood-fired for eight hours;

Chili Lime Sakura Chicken, seasoned to perfection;

Dirty Duck also cooked perfectly;

Ribeye steak that was succulent and juicy;

and Barramundi, with a nice crispy skin.

Aside from those, there’s two pasta dishes of Beef Bolognese;

and Carbonara.

Of the two, I would recommend the carbonara as it is lighter and complements the other mains better, while the bolognese is on the heavy side. When it comes to an unlimited feast, one has to be strategic to get a taste of just about everything, without overeating.

Out of all the mains, my dad and I felt that the Pork Belly, the Ribeye, and the Barramundi were the ones worth ordering more than once, so go for these if you are at your tipping point!

Overall, thanks to the much appreciated smaller serving portions, between my dad and I, we were able to finish nearly one of every item in the menu. We are not large eaters, so it is quite manageable for a group of two or more to try one of everything in their menu.

Once you’ve finished your meal, you can now move onto sweet desserts. Their selection consists of Brownie S’mores;

Lemon Pound Cake;

Apple Crumble;

Spiced Rum Pineapple and Campfire Marshmallows.

Out of the desserts we tried, the Applee Crumble was our favourite, with fresh, hot, crisp apples coated in cinnamon sauce and crumble, and topped with vanilla ice cream. While the pound cake was delicious, I felt that it was a bit fillling, and the Brownie S’mores a bit too heavy after a heavy meal.

For an even better experience, you can add-on free flow beverages like champagne and cold-pressed watermelon lime juice to help you get all that food down for $28++.

Here, all are welcome, with kids 6 and below dining free, and kids 7 to 12 years old eating for $28++.

As One Holland Village is a pet friendly mall, you can enjoy a lovely afternoon at Fireplace together with your furry friends, so long as you are content with sitting outside.
