Survivors Shine on the Runway at Fashion For Cancer’s Third Edition with Mayor Baey Yam Keng Leading the Way

Fashion For Cancer (FFC) 2025 gala concluded its third edition on 13 September at The Westin Singapore, marking a significant milestone by raising over S$160,000.

Bringing together cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and supporters, the event raised more than $160,000 as of September 2025, in support of the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) Cancer Fund, which advances both cancer research and patient care.

Themed “Rise Together,” FFC 2025 showcased the power of collective action, with survivors, caregivers, and volunteers rallying together to inspire hope.

The evening was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Professor Lim Soon Thye, CEO of NCCS and Deputy Group CEO (Research & Education), SingHealth, and Mr Baey Yam Keng, Mayor of North East District and Minister of State, who walked the runway in solidarity with survivors.

The runway showcase featuring 24 first-time model ambassadors, including cancer patients and survivors across diverse cancer types, who walked with pride in vibrant designs by homegrown label YeoMama Batik, accessorised by Moss & Lupine.

Mayor Baey, a cancer survivor himself, was one of the star models for the night.

Each step they took was a symbol of resilience and the determination to inspire many others still undergoing treatment. The event was accompanied by a dynamic programme of live performances. joined on stage by Singer Shaun Spencer, DJ Koflow, and guitarist duo Daniel Sassoon.

Founded by Ong Bee Yan (Yan), Fashion For Cancer was inspired by her late son Rong Liang’s battle with pancreatic cancer.

“What began as a personal mission has grown into a movement powered by volunteers, survivors, and supporters who want to make a difference. Tonight’s event shows the strength of community – raising awareness, celebrating resilience, and offering hope to those who need it most,” said Yan.
