Tsuburaya Productions is gearing up to enhance the Ultraman Card Game experience with the launch of two highly anticipated expansions: the Vortex of Crimson and Azure booster pack and the Ultraman: Rising Extra Deck. Set to release on January 24, 2025, these new additions follow the successful debut of the Guardians of the Earth booster pack and promise to elevate gameplay with fresh strategies and dynamic elements.
The Vortex of Crimson and Azure booster pack introduces an impressive 110 new cards, including 30 collectible parallel cards, showcasing a range of Ultraman characters. Players can expect to find cards spanning various rarities, from Common (C) to the newly introduced Extra Parallel (ExP) rarity, which features the highest level of card rarities in the series to date. Inspired by the vibrant themes of red and blue, this booster pack highlights iconic hero pairs such as Gaia and Agul, Rosso and Blu, and Mebius and Hikari, allowing players to enhance their decks and strategies.
Ultraman Arc Galaxy Armor offers unparalleled flexibility by allowing players to switch between various Arc forms based on the evolving game state. Ultraman Rosso Flame introduces a groundbreaking ability by enabling non-lead players to utilise scene card effects, a feature typically reserved for lead players. When the player assumes the role of lead, they can activate two scene card effects within a single turn, significantly enhancing strategic flexibility and opening the door to powerful, game-shifting plays.
Ultimate Zero takes advantage of the battle opponent’s TYPE to gain additional BP or increase BP grade. By modifying the opponent’s TYPE and enhancing an adjacent Zero card’s BP, players can potentially win three battles simultaneously, creating powerful strategic opportunities.
Ultraman Gaia Supreme Version allows the player to shift the momentum of the battle by returning the top card of this card’s battle opponent to their hand if it is DOUBLE or TRIPLE. This creates unexpected openings, providing an opportunity to seize victory.
In an exciting twist, Tsuburaya has collaborated with renowned Marvel artists, including Matt Frank, John Bellotti Jr., E.J. Su, Nick Roche, Jamie Noguchi, Reilly Brown, and the legendary Bob Eggleton. The Triple Rare Ultraman (Ken Sato) introduces a strategic drawback, where the player’s BP grade decreases by 1 if his opponent has a POWER or ARMED type card in play. However, playing an Emi, The Baby Kaiju card will help the player negate this effect and prevent the BP decrease.
The Triple Rare Emi, The Baby Kaiju card allows players to negate the effect text of one of their Ultraman Ken Sato cards for the turn with no cost, making them an intimidating duo to go up against.
Notable cards from the Vortex of Crimson and Azure booster pack include the “From Today We Are Ultraman” Scene Card, which captures a pivotal moment from the series, and the “Spacium Beam Together” Scene Card from the Ultraman: Rising Extra Deck, showcasing a dramatic twist on the iconic Spacium Beam.
Both the Vortex of Crimson and Azure booster pack and the Ultraman: Rising Extra Deck will be available simultaneously across 23 countries and regions, including options in Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. In Singapore, fans can purchase the English-language booster packs for SGD 5.00 each or as a 24-pack box, while the English-language extra deck is priced at SGD 12.99.
