Jewel Changi Airport Shines Bright with Record Footfall and Sales in 2024

Jewel Changi Airport (Jewel) has achieved a stellar performance in 2024, reporting record-breaking footfall and sales that reflect the revival of air travel and its growing appeal as a lifestyle destination. With over 80 million visitors between January and December, foot traffic increased by 10% year-on-year (y-o-y), while sales rose by 5%—the highest figures since its grand opening in 2019. Notably, retail sales per square foot climbed by 6% compared to 2023, demonstrating Jewel’s strong resonance with shoppers.

Global Travelers Fuel Growth

Overseas visitors accounted for more than 35% of Jewel’s foot traffic in 2024, marking a 7% jump from the previous year. Tourists from China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, and the Philippines led the way, with visits from China and Taiwan doubling year-on-year.

Exciting New Retail and Dining Additions

Boasting over 260 retail shops and restaurants, Jewel introduced 30 new brands in 2024, including flagship stores from Charles & Keith, Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck, and POP MART. Nine of these brands made their Singapore debut, with international F&B names such as Hakka Yu, NAI XUE, and Royal Host choosing Jewel as their launchpad.

Looking ahead, nearly 30 new brands are set to join Jewel in 2025, including adidas, which will unveil a flagship concept store showcasing limited-edition collections and bespoke services. French footwear brand Palladium, along with sportswear leaders Salomon and Wilson Sporting Goods, will further elevate Jewel as Singapore’s go-to destination for athleisure.

Level 1 will see an expansion of its mid-luxury shopping options, with new stores from a premium German luxury car manufacturer and the launch of Sam Edelman, a timeless American footwear brand. Level 4 will continue to grow as a hub for young adult collectibles, welcoming a Japanese manga chain and the return of the Nintendo pop-up store with an even larger selection of merchandise.

A Culinary Journey Awaits

Food lovers can look forward to a variety of new dining experiences. Café Kitsune will debut an enhanced brunch menu paired with natural wines in a chic setting, while Surrey Hills will bring a slice of Melbourne to Singapore.
Korean restaurant Bookmagol and homegrown brand SugarBelly, known for its mochi doughnuts, will both launch their first outlets in Singapore. In addition, The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. will reopen with a larger space featuring a tea bar and dessert counter, and Mrs Pho will pair up with Michelin-starred ramen restaurant Tsuta in a dual-concept eatery.

More updates on new store and eatery openings will be revealed soon, promising even more reasons to visit Jewel.
