FIJI Water Advances Eco-Friendly Initiatives with 100% Recycled Plastic Bottles

FIJI Water, the natural mineral water renowned for its pristine source in the Fiji Islands, is taking significant strides in environmental sustainability. The brand has replaced nearly 70% of its global bottle volume with bottles made from 100% recycled plastic (rPET). This major shift now extends to Singapore, where the popular 500 mL and 330 mL bottles, crafted entirely from recycled materials, are available.

Excellence in Every Drop

Sourced from an artesian aquifer deep in the Yaqara Valley of Viti Levu, Fiji, FIJI Water is celebrated for its pure taste and untouched quality. The water naturally filters through layers of volcanic rock before collecting in the aquifer, shielded from external contaminants. The natural pressure then pushes the water towards the surface, where it is bottled directly at the source, ensuring it remains pure until opened.

Championing Environmental Stewardship

FIJI Water’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its transition to rPET bottles, which is a cornerstone of its broader environmental strategy. Additionally, the brand has invested approximately FJ$5 million (SGD 2.98 million) in energy efficiency projects across the Fijian islands, including microturbine energy generation and the adoption of low-sulphur fuel standards for shipping, which significantly reduces sulphur oxide emissions.

The FIJI Water Foundation continues its dedication to supporting the Fijian community and environment by providing access to clean water, healthcare, and education. Since 2007, the Foundation has partnered with Conservation International to fund large-scale reforestation and conservation efforts in the Sovi Basin, preserving Fiji’s most vital forest ecosystem and its largest remaining lowland rainforest.
