IFPAS Celebrates 55 Years with Groundbreaking Lasting Power of Attorney Initiative and Nationwide Certification Endorsement

Marking its 55th anniversary, the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore (IFPAS) has successfully concluded its Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Certification Initiative. As the leading non-profit association representing financial practitioners in Singapore, IFPAS has long been committed to serving the financial industry and the community at large. This milestone underscores their dedication to giving back in impactful ways.

In celebration of this significant achievement, IFPAS collaborated with Keystone Clinic & Surgery and Emre Legal LLC to host a series of webinars and talks on the importance of LPA. These sessions, which attracted over 6,000 participants, focused on educating the public about the necessity of appointing a trusted individual to make decisions on their behalf should they lose mental capacity. As a highlight of this initiative, IFPAS sponsored and certified over 3,400 individuals across Singapore. Among these, 1,113 were certified at a major event held at Toa Payoh West Community Club, which generously served as the venue sponsor.

Since the initiative’s launch last year, IFPAS has recruited and trained over 400 LPA Ambassadors, all of whom are active IFPAS members and financial practitioners. These ambassadors are committed to raising awareness about the importance of LPA and the need for pre-planning, ensuring that Singaporeans can make informed decisions about their future. This initiative also aligns with the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s campaign to increase LPA adoption by waiving the $75 application fee, further encouraging participation.
