Residents of Bukit Batok East came together to achieve a record-breaking feat, entering the Singapore Book of Records (SBOR) with the “Largest Display of Food Clay Art Model.” This impressive display, held on 27 July 2024 at Toh Guan Park, was part of the Bukit Batok East PAssionArts Festival 2024.
The festival featured 200 mini clay artworks showcasing over 50 varieties of food, representing a wide array of local and international cuisines. From traditional ice kacang and nyonya kuehs to ramen noodles and pizza, the miniature clay models highlighted the diverse food culture of Singapore and beyond.
Led by the Bukit Batok East Community Arts and Culture Club in collaboration with Bukit Batok East Zone 3 RC and community artist Amisha Gaikar, the project celebrated the theme of this year’s PAssionArts Festival, “Palettes of Joy.” The theme was brought to life through these intricate, small-scale clay models, each as tiny as 2 cm, connecting residents through their love of food and art.
