Today marks a monumental day for Tokyo DisneySea Park as it welcomes its newest themed port, Fantasy Springs, drawing a large crowd of excited guests. This grand opening introduces the world to the only themed port of its kind, centered around magical springs that lead to a world of Disney fantasy.
Fantasy Springs is divided into three enchanting areas, each inspired by beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios films:
- Frozen Kingdom (Frozen-themed)
- Rapunzel’s Forest (Tangled-themed)
- Peter Pan’s Never Land (Peter Pan-themed)
Additionally, the new Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel offers guests an immersive stay within the magical realm.
Grand Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony featured key figures from Oriental Land Co., Ltd., including Toshio Kagami, Representative Director and Chair of the Board of Directors; Yumiko Takano, Representative Director, Chairperson, and CEO; and Kenji Yoshida, Representative Director, President, and COO. Representing The Walt Disney Company were Bob A. Iger, Chief Executive Officer, and Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences. They expressed gratitude to guests and supporters of Tokyo Disney Resort and formally announced the opening of Fantasy Springs.
The event was attended by 100 members of the Tokyo Disney Resort Official Park Fan Club, Funderful Disney, who won the chance to participate through a lottery. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and cherished Disney characters such as Anna and Elsa from Frozen, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled, and Peter Pan and Wendy also made special appearances.
A Warm Welcome
Following the ceremony, cast members enthusiastically welcomed guests into Fantasy Springs, waving flags and creating a festive atmosphere. Visitors explored the magical springs adorned with Disney character motifs and immersed themselves in the detailed environments reminiscent of Disney films. The day was filled with guests taking photos, enjoying new attractions, and sampling fresh menu items.
A Massive Undertaking
The development of Fantasy Springs took approximately five years, starting in May 2019, and represents a substantial investment of 320 billion yen. Spanning an area of approximately 140,000 square meters, it is the largest expansion of Tokyo DisneySea since its opening in 2001.
