Saudia Group has unveiled its comprehensive operational plan for Hajj Season 2024, aiming to facilitate the seamless transportation of pilgrims from across the globe to the holy sites. This extensive plan spans 74 days, starting from May 9th, and is designed to streamline procedures and deliver top-notch services at various service locations.
With a fleet of more than 150 aircraft, Saudia Group has allocated over 1.2 million seats for Hajj pilgrims, ensuring operational efficiency and high-quality service. This initiative aligns with the directives of the Saudi leadership and is supported by collaboration with various entities dedicated to serving Hajj pilgrims.
Specialized Teams and Resources
Saudia Group has formed specialized teams focused on performance monitoring, terminal operations, and coordination with other sectors. Operational resources have been strategically allocated across King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. An emergency plan has also been developed in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, and virtual simulations have been conducted at Jeddah and Madinah international airports to ensure readiness.
Comprehensive Service Coverage
Hajj pilgrims will be welcomed through five domestic airports: Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, Dammam, and Yanbu. More than 11,000 frontline employees and aircraft maintenance technicians will be on hand to ensure smooth operations and efficiency. The “Makkah Route” initiative will serve 120,000 pilgrims, streamlining the immigration process, while the “Luggage First” service will handle 270,000 bags and 240,000 Zamzam bottles.
Enhanced Pilgrim Experience
Saudia offers several initiatives to enhance the Hajj experience:
- Seamless Boarding: Issuance of outbound and inbound boarding passes.
- Multilingual Staff: Service delivery in over 30 languages to ensure efficient communication.
- Diverse Meal Options: Catering to a variety of tastes with diverse meal options onboard.
Special Features for Pilgrims
Saudia aircraft are equipped with screens that display Miqat announcements and prayer times. Over 300,000 minutes of Islamic content, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, are available to educate pilgrims on rituals and Kingdom regulations.
Accessibility and Special Services
Saudia prioritizes accessibility, providing transport for individuals with disabilities, as well as medical stretchers and oxygen equipment onboard when needed. Additionally, Saudia continues its luggage collection service from pilgrims’ residences, simplifying travel procedures for return flights after the pilgrimage rites.
