Calling all Young Stars: Miss Saigon Announces Open Auditions for the Role of Tam in Singapore

Base Entertainment Asia, in partnership with GWB Entertainment, is thrilled to announce open auditions for the role of Tam in the Singapore season of Miss Saigon, the acclaimed musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg.

Miss Saigon, hailed as one of the greatest musicals of all time, has captivated audiences worldwide with its powerful storytelling and unforgettable music. From the creators of Les Misérables, this production has garnered 70 major theatre awards and has been seen by millions across the globe.

Now, as the show prepares for its highly anticipated run at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands from August 15th, 2024, young talents aged four to eight are invited to audition for the role of Tam. The character, male-identifying and of Vietnamese heritage, has a playing age of three years old.

Auditions are scheduled for April 27th and 28th, 2024, with the venue to be announced soon. Children meeting the age and height requirements (maximum height of 115cm) can register online via the provided form. Candidates must be physically present for auditions and available for all rehearsals and performances as listed on the registration site.

While the role can be portrayed by any gender, auditionees with long hair may be asked to cut it if cast. The ideal candidates should exude confidence while also being able to remain still and silent when required.

Miss Saigon tells the poignant tale of Kim, a young Vietnamese woman, and her epic journey of survival during the Vietnam War. Filled with romance, heartache, and hope, the musical features iconic songs like “The Heat is On in Saigon” and “The Movie in My Mind.”

This new production, directed by Laurence Connor, promises to be a breathtaking experience for audiences. With a sensational cast and an unforgettable score, including classic hits like “Last Night of the World” and “American Dream,” Miss Saigon is set to mesmerize Singaporean audiences.
