The special edition lens features a black anodized finish, complemented by the iconic silver stainless steel front ring, affectionately known as the “Steel Rim”. Emblazoned with the “LEITZ WETZLAR” engraving on the front, the lens exudes timeless elegance. A unique detail lies in the black painted brass focus lock button, which develops a distinctive patina over time, adding character to the lens.

To stay true to the original design, the engravings on the focus ring of the special edition lens have been meticulously adjusted. The arrangement of the feet and meter scale mirrors that of the original lens, ensuring authenticity down to the finest detail.

In terms of imaging performance, the special edition lens upholds the high standards set by its series counterpart. Shooting with an open aperture produces images with a soft, almost ethereal bokeh, earning the Summilux-M 1:1.4/35 the moniker of the “True King of Bokeh”. When stopped down to f/2.8, the lens delivers exceptionally sharp and distortion-free images, meeting the demands of modern photography.

Packaged in a vintage-inspired box, the special edition set includes a lens container, a clip-on lens hood, and an additional round lens hood with an E46 thread for filter compatibility.

Available exclusively in selected Leica Stores worldwide, the black anodized Leica Summilux-M 1:1.4/35 with its engraved special serial number comes with a retail price of S$15,300.00.
