Singapore Lyric Opera Youth and Children’s Chorus Presents “Springtime Rhapsody” Concert at Esplanade

Immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies of the Singapore Lyric Opera Youth and Children’s Chorus (SLOYCC) as they take center stage at the Esplanade’s Concourse for a special “Springtime Rhapsody” concert. Held on March 17, 2024, in two 30-minute sessions at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, these performances promise to captivate audiences with their heartfelt renditions of timeless classics and contemporary tunes.

Led by a team of talented performers, some as young as six years old, the SLOYCC aims to cultivate a love for western opera among the younger generation while upholding the highest standards of excellence. Through their engaging performances, they seek to inspire audiences with messages of hope, courage, and resilience.

The concert will feature a carefully curated selection of songs, including “Let Us Take These Wings,” “Flying Free,” and “The Fireflies,” each conveying a unique story of dreams and aspirations. With their angelic voices and heartfelt performances, the SLOYCC promises to leave a lasting impression on all who attend.

In addition to their captivating performances, the SLOYCC also offers a holistic development program for youth and children aged 6 to 25, providing vocal and performance skills training. The SLOYCC forms an integral part of the Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO), which also includes an Adult Chorus welcoming members from all walks of life.

For those interested in joining the SLOYCC or exploring their passion for opera, the SLO is hosting open auditions for talents of all ages this March. Auditions for the SLOYCC will take place on March 16 and 23 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Goodman Arts Centre.
