Give Huat, Win Huat: DBS/POSB Unveils Exciting Digital Gifting Solutions for a Prosperous Chinese New Year

DBS/POSB is ushering in the festive spirit with a range of digital and traditional gifting solutions, offering customers unprecedented convenience and a chance to win big in the “Give Huat, Win Huat” giveaway.

For customers gearing up for Chinese New Year (CNY), DBS/POSB provides a seamless experience with their popular DBS QR Ang Bao and eGift options. Running until January 25, customers can order DBS QR Ang Baos through the bank’s digibot service and have them conveniently delivered to their doorstep before the festivities kick in.

What sets this year apart is the enticing “Give Huat, Win Huat” giveaway. By utilizing the DBS QR Ang Bao or eGift and keeping cash withdrawals under SGD 600 from January 15 to February 29, customers stand a chance to win up to SGD 88,888 in cash prizes. The lucky draw will take place on April 30, 2024, with winners announced on the same date.

For those who prefer the charm of traditional cash gifting, DBS/POSB has introduced the reservation of new and Fit-for-Gifting notes. Starting January 17, customers can reserve these notes online and collect them from January 24 onwards. Additionally, 72 pop-up ATMs across 48 locations will be available from January 24 to February 8, facilitating easy withdrawals of new and Fit notes.

DBS/POSB’s commitment to elevating festive gifting is evident in the continued popularity of digital options. In 2023, there was a 20% increase in customers using QR Ang Bao and/or eGift for the first time, with over SGD 15 million gifted via DBS QR Gift and eGift during CNY – a remarkable 30% increase compared to 2022. This year, the QR Ang Bao features a refreshed slot-in design inspired by traditional Ang Bao envelopes, offering convenience to both gifters and recipients.

With QR Ang Bao, gifters can enjoy a complimentary click-and-deliver service or obtain them from DBS/POSB branches. Recipients can easily scan the QR code and receive their monetary gift directly into their PayLah! wallet or bank account.

The “Give Huat, Win Huat” giveaway adds an extra layer of excitement, with a chance to win grand prizes of up to SGD 88,888 by participating in this festive digital experience. Customers are encouraged to get into the spirit of the season and take advantage of these exclusive offerings from DBS/POSB.

In addition to the digital delights, DBS/POSB is extending the festive joy with exclusive CNY promotions. From January 17 to February 29, cardholders can enjoy cash rebates and discounts, while those considering a new home can benefit from the DBS Home Loan CNY special promotion, featuring a bonus Ang Bao of up to SGD 888 for new home loan applications until February 29, 2024.
