When we first received the review set in the mail, the unboxing experience was great and it did not feel budget. The exterior of the phone is design beautifully and reminds us of the Black Shark gaming phones.

Key Specifications:

  • 6.6-inch IPS display (2,408 x 1,080 pixels, 120Hz)
  • Unisoc T820 chip with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage
  • 50MP + 2MP rear cameras and 8MP front camera
  • 4,500mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging

In day-to-day usage, the phone functions adequately for mid-range expectations, with seamless navigation and efficient gaming. Its internal storage and charging speeds leave room for improvement, but at this price, it is acceptable. The battery life of the Nubia Neo 5G lasts a day with average usage. For avid mobile gamers, this will drain much faster.

Camera-wise, the Nubia Neo 5G features a 50MP primary rear camera that delivers decent results in good lighting. It is not so great in low light conditions though, but compared to other phones in the same entry-level price range, it is acceptable.

For connectivity, it supports 5G networks, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, and features such as side-mounted fingerprint sensors, accelerometer, and proximity sensors. The phone runs on Android 13.

The Nubia Neo 5G’s unique design, sturdy build, and 120Hz refresh rate display will appeal to budget-conscious gamers seeking an entry-level gaming experience. The perfect buyers for this phone would be parents with young kids, getting an entry-level phone for their kids to play games with. The price is extremely wallet-friendly and kids generally do not need the souped-up specifications for taking top-notch photos and videos or longer battery life beyond what they can use in a typical school day.

The ZTE Nubia Neo 5G is available in two color options: Black and Yellow. It weighs 192 grams and measures 163.7 x 75 x 8 mm.

For gamers (or parents) on a budget, the Nubia Neo 5G could be a viable option. It offers decent gaming performance at an attractive price point, making it a contender in the mid-range gaming phone market.
