SINGATHON 2023: The Harmony of Giving and Music is back on 3 December - Alvinology

When: 3 December 2023

Time: 10 am to 10 pm

Where: International French School of Singapore (IFSS) Amphitheatre

Music enthusiasts of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life will unite for a 12-hour musical extravaganza. The Singathon promises a dynamic showcase of talents, with singers rotating every 20 minutes to bring an eclectic mix of musical styles, reflecting the rich diversity of Singaporean society.

The Cause: Music for All, All for Music

Beyond the celebration of music, SINGATHON serves a noble cause. Each performing group has a fundraising target of at least $1,000, with the proceeds dedicated to continuing Sing’theatre’s community outreach program, 365 HOURS OF MUSIC in 2024. This initiative aims to bring live music and theatre to those with limited access, including public hospitals and healthcare institutions, through public concerts and private performances for patients in the wards.

Additionally, it provides singing and musical theatre classes to underserved communities, such as the visually handicapped, seniors, and foreign domestic helpers.

A Musical Marathon for a Worthy Cause

The IFSS Amphitheatre will be the stage for this spectacular 12-hour concert, affirming its role as the official venue for this remarkable event. The concert promises an immersive experience with over 200 performers spanning genres like jazz, operetta, musical theatre, pop, and rock.

For those unable to attend in person, the concert will be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook, ensuring that everyone can be part of the musical celebration.

The highlight of the event will be the performance by the three choirs created, funded, and managed by Sing’theatre: The SAVH (Singapore Association Of The Visually Handicapped) choir, The AMKFSC Community Services choir (Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre), and The Sampaguitas (20 foreign domestic workers who gather to sing at Sing’theatre every Sunday afternoon).
