Meet Ghostly Kisses: The Musical Journey
Ghostly Kisses is the brainchild of the talented Canadian singer and songwriter, Margaux Sauvé. Born into a family of musicians, Margaux’s journey with music began at the tender age of 5 when she first picked up the violin. As the years passed, her passion for music led her to explore singing and songwriting. The name ‘Ghostly Kisses’ was inspired by a William Faulkner poem, ‘Une ballade des dames perdues,’ a fitting reflection of Margaux’s ethereal and hauntingly beautiful voice.
In 2017, Ghostly Kisses made a significant mark with her track “Such Words,” which garnered over 50,000 Spotify plays within the first 24 hours of its release. Her talent quickly caught the attention of music lovers and critics alike. She had the honor of being part of the International Festival of Jazz of Montreal and Festival d’Été of Quebec. Additionally, she opened for internationally acclaimed artists like RY X, Charlotte Cardin, Trixie Whitley, and Milk & Bone in both Canada and the US.
The ‘City Holds My Heart’ – An Ethereal Journey
In 2018, Ghostly Kisses unveiled “The City Holds My Heart – EP,” a 5-track album produced by Louis-Étienne Santais (Fjord). The EP was an exploration of the sonic textures of the ’90s, resulting in a mesmerizing soundscape that resonated with audiences. The following year, Ghostly Kisses embarked on her first official tour in Canada and graced stages in the United States. The tour was a resounding success, with sold-out shows in Canada, including cities like Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Lévis, and Beloeil.
SXSW and Spotify Stardom
Ghostly Kisses’ talent didn’t go unnoticed, and she was officially selected to showcase her music at the renowned SXSW festival in Austin in March 2019. Her tracks have also found a home on numerous Spotify playlists, including New Music Friday, Evening Commute, Chill Covers, and Lush+Atmospheric, just to name a few. With over 40 million plays to her name, Ghostly Kisses has captured the hearts of listeners around the world.
