Calling all Anime, Comics, and Games (ACG) enthusiasts – mark your calendars for the most epic event of the year! Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2023, lovingly dubbed #AFASG23, is back and set to take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention Centre from November 24 to November 26, 2023. The organizers of Southeast Asia’s most celebrated J-Culture and ACG festival unveiled a slew of electrifying updates via a global livestream, giving fans a taste of what to expect.
Three Nights of Star-Studded Entertainment
Prepare to be swept away by three nights of musical and anime magic as over 20 artists and groups take the stage from November 24 to 26. Tickets for the November 25 AFA x hololiveMeet have already been snapped up, but a limited number of tickets for AFA x I LOVE ANISONG on November 24 and AFA x SACRA MUSIC FES. on November 26 are still available.
Here’s a taste of what you can look forward to on AFA Night Concerts:
November 24: “I Love Anisong” featuring artists ASTERISM, Liyuu, May’n, NANO, Survive Said The Prophet, and Tatsuya Kitani.
November 25: “hololive Meet” boasting nine artists across three teams, including Sakura Miko, Hoshimachi Suisei, Ayunda Risu, Moona Hoshinova, and more.
November 26: “SACRA MUSIC FES.” with performances by FLOW, ASCA, halca, spira spica, and a special appearance by Nami Tamaki.
The 3-Day VIP Ticket Packages are already sold out. These packages provided access to the exhibition grounds, day stage events, and additional perks like AFASG Fastlane access and chances to win artiste-signed posters and postcard packs.
Special Collaborations
The festival is set to host some exceptional collaborations:
Bushiroad Expo Asia 2023 will feature trading card game tournaments, including The Bushiroad Championship Series 2023 Regional Championship and Shadowverse: Evolve World Invitational 2023 Regional Qualifier. Attendees can also enjoy merchandise sales, video game demos, and game teaching sessions. Notably, World Wonder Ring Stardom, a Japanese women’s professional wrestling group, will appear at AFASG23 as part of the Bushiroad Expo.
Ultraman: Brought to you by Tsuburaya Productions, expect appearances by Ultraman, live stage performances, booth activities, and a life-sized Gomora inflatable. AFASG23 will also be the first place to play the Ultraman Card Game and acquire exclusive PR cards.
Day Stage Highlights
The AFA Day Stage, located at Hall 406, will host an array of screenings, guest talk shows, and more from November 24 to 26. Here’s a glimpse of the first wave of highlights:
November 24 (Friday): Enjoy the Southeast Asia special premieres of “Chained Soldier” and “Tales of Wedding Rings” and join special guests Iori Moe and Shigure Ui.
November 25 (Saturday): Seiyuus Ai Kayano, Yumi Uchiyama, and Sumire Uesaka will share their insights on the Day Stage.
November 26 (Sunday): Seiyuu Soma Saito will make a special appearance, while a special MAPPA showcase featuring Manabu Otsuka, Yuichiro Hayashi, and Mari Okada is bound to captivate the audience. Don’t miss the Cardfight!! Vanguard Talk Stage with Seiyuus Amane Shindo, Yuka Nishio, and Hina Aoki.

Exhibition: Akiba Town
Anime and merch lovers, get ready for a shopping spree at Akiba Town, where over 70 exhibitors will showcase their latest and exclusive merchandise. Highlights include:
- HoYo FEST 2023: Dive into a series of online and offline events, exclusive merchandise, and interactive activities.

Exhibition: Akiba Stage
Inside the exhibition areas, AFA’s Akiba Stage will feature dazzling performances and talent showcases by Japanese and local artistes. These include:
- Japanese Idol Group DEAR KISS.
- Idol Group Forbidden Equation, which offers a new concept with live performances based on the roles of teachers and students.
- Singaporean Virtual Idol Group SO*DA, debuting a special version of their new music video.
- Popular idol group KissBee‘s selected four members will perform not only their original songs but also tunes from trending idol anime and idol game content.
- A music showcase by 4 V-Reverie talents, featuring Lilrya Prisvielle, Nova Aokami, Ophelia Midnight, and Akiko Sushi.
- TikTok Live’s Friday Music Show, a live event where music live creators compete on TikTok LIVE. This edition focuses on anime songs.
- Virtual Talent Audition: Organized by Ziku-management Inc., the winner of the Audition will be showcased on the Akiba Stage.
- Amelia Khor, the talented songstress from Malaysia, will bring the house down with her band.
- The Pentel ft Manda Dayoyo stage will show how character sketches are done in a live demonstration using stationery from Pentel.
- Golden Mix, an anime music party platform based in Singapore, is ready to rock the house.
- ASTRALINE, a new multimedia project by Merryweather Media, will blur the lines between fiction and reality.
Creators Hub and Cosplay Hub
Over 120 of the best creators from around the world will participate in AFA’s highly-anticipated Creator’s Hub. Additionally, 26 cosplay celebrities, including +Ely Cosplay+, Angie0_0, and Amelia Khor, will be joining AFASG23.
Enhanced Visitor Experience
AFAVERSE returns to the festival grounds, offering an immersive game-like experience. Visitors will receive NFC-enabled bands to access the festival floorplan, schedules, and more. AFA-Coins can be earned by interacting with various touchpoints across the festival.
