[Review] Individual Portion Plant-based Pizza by MEAT ZERO

Pizzas are one of the ultimate comfort food when you are in a hurry. You can order one via delivery or pop a frozen pizza into the oven, either way, it will be ready to eat in less than an hour.

For those who are into sustainable food, MEAT ZERO, by Thailand food conglomerate, CP Food, recently launched two frozen personal pan pizza flavours in Singapore. Crafted in collaboration with Baker’s Oven, they are perfect for flexitarians and folks who are looking for meat-free alternatives.

MEAT ZERO’s plant-based Original Bologna and Bologna Chilli are used to create the Hawaiian Pizza and Chilli Ham & Mushroom Pizza respectively.

The crust of the Hawaiian Pizza is topped with tomato sauce, MEAT ZERO Bologna Ham, pineapple dices and string mozzarella. The Chilli Ham & Mushroom Pizza boasts a tangy, cheesy and a spicy kick. MEAT ZERO Chili Bologna Ham, button mushroom slices and string mozzarella are pulled together by a rich tomato sauce.

If you can ignore the silly-looking cartoon drawing of a slice of pizza with hands and legs (the packaging design needs improvement), the pizzas are pretty good. They are cheesy and full of flavours, meat or no meat.

Prices are very reasonable, retailing at just S$5.20 for each box of 150g individual portion pizza which can serve as a quick meal for one person. The pizzas are also halal certified.
