Celebrate Sentosa’s 50th birthday with Udders and their refreshing Golden Jubilee ice creams

Many of you will recognize the familar names of Sentosa and Udders, with one being a famous local attraction and the latter being a well-loved Singaporean brand. Well, Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) and Udders Ice Cream have jointly launched two uniquely-flavoured Golden Jubilee Ice Creams to commemorate the leisure destination’s 50th anniversary, as SDC brings Sentosa’s celebrations out of the island (read to the end to find out how you can redeem a cup for free!).

The ice creams were introduced to media by Udders’ very own head ice cream chef, Ning, who shared his inspirations behind the two flavours.

Mango Palawan, a creamy and brightly-coloured delight, was brought about by Ning’s personal love for mango sago, a popular traditional dessert, as well as inspired by the many mango trees around Sentosa. You will be delighted to know that as an added touch, pomelo bits have been added within the ice cream.

On the other hand, Coco Siloso is light and cool, with notes of pineapple, coconut and lime. Personally, I found it interesting that upon first lick, the taste of pineapple features prominently, yet over time, the lime aftertaste provides a refreshing change to brighten your experience. Ning even shared that this flavour was inspired by pina colada (but now alcohol-free)!

We were given the chance to plate our own ice cream to resemble our own version of Sentosa using a variety of toppings and sauces. Check out my creation below! I found that fruits complemented best with the tropical nature of both ice creams.

You may be glad to know that as part of SDC’s commitment to building a sustainable future, the carbon profile of the ice cream production process was ascertained by Climate Resources Exchange International (CRX) and neutralised through Verra-certified carbon credits. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper has also been used for the ice cream cups.

Want to get your hands on these two new flavours? Redeem a free cup of the Golden Jubilee Ice Cream from 20 to 24 June 2022, while stocks last. After following both Sentosa and Udders on Instagram, all you have to do is head to Udders outlets in Singapore or 2 selected Sentosa retail outlets (FUN Shop Beach Plaza and Singapore Cable Car Gift Shop @Imbiah) between 12-6pm and say the phrase “You, Me, and Sentosa’s Golden Jubilee Ice Cream?” to the staff at the outlet. You’ll then be able to redeem a flavour of your choice (Mango Siloso or Coco Palawan)! Only 200 cups are available at each outlet across the promotion period, so do hurry 😉

Otherwise, the ice cream will be available in select Cheers and PandaMart stores from 14 June.
