Domino’s Pizza is taking this chinese new year to a whole new level with a cheese bomb of a pizza. With 2.5x more cheese, the Cheese Xplosion Pizza ($30.90, 9”/$40.90, 12”) is a cheese extravaganza. With a hand stretched crust slathered in garlic butter, stuffed with 100% mozzarella and topped with parmesan, this will certainly satisfy all cheese lovers as well as make for a fulfilling meal.
The tantalising cheese pull is sure to have cheese lovers drooling so to really have a filling there’s even the Double Ong Meal( ($25.90, U.P. $51.20) which is a regular Cheese Xplosion Pizza, a side of chicken wings, a serving of salsa dip and a chocolate lava cake which is good for 2-3 people.
For 4-6 people, we got to try the Very Heng Meal ($49.90, U.P. $92.50) has a regular Cheese Xplosion, 1 regular pizza, a side of wings, 2 servings of salsa dip, a box of marbled brownies and a 1.5L bottle of soft drink.
Needless to say the Cheese Xplosion pizza was deliciously cheesy, the x2.5 more cheese isn’t a joke; the centre is essentially a cheese “mountain” so cheese lovers will definitely be satisfied by this. Personally, I suggest adding a thin layer of salsa dip onto the pizza, it adds a tangy flavour to it, giving it an extra dimension. You can even eat the crust separately like a Cheesy garlic bread! The unique notes of the 100% mozzarella cheese are more pronounced that way, and combined with the addictive taste and fragrance of the garlic and butter-infused secret sauce. This pizza is extremely versatile and there are so many other ways to really get the full experience of this innovative treat.
The other pizza we tried was the Classified Chicken ($11.90-$40.90) With slices of onions, mushrooms, smoked chicken cubes, this was a hearty one. The onions were fresh, crunchy and juicy and its natural sweetness added depth to this savoury slice. The chicken was juicy and well marinated, it also went well with a little bit of the salsa dip. Addictive it is, the salsa dip. It went well with both the pizzas we tried as well as the chicken so I highly recommend adding some of it onto the cheese laden goodness. This is a more “well rounded pizza”, with a whole variety of ingredients and textures, no wonder it’s a popular choice!
Lastly, the brownie was a pleasant surprise. I had expected it to be sugary sweet, however it actually was perfect. This allowed the chocolate flavours to shine through and with the white top of the brownie, the contrast between the chewy brownie and crisp top scrumptious, plus the contrast in colours adds a little colour pop to the brownie. And for some refreshment, there’s a bottle of coke that we got to share around, ending the meal on a light note.
Having a few guests over? The Super Huat Meal ($79.90, U.P. $138.80) is perfect for a small gathering. This has a large Cheese Xplosion pizza, a large pizza, a side of chicken, 4 servings of salsa dip, an awesome foursome sharing mix, a box of marbled brownies and 2 1.5L bottles of soft drink. This would be good for 7-9 people and good for sharing.
