As you can see from the images, the serving is really generous and will leave your tummies filled and satisfied at the end of the meal. The highlight is clearly their kebabs and stew, slow-cooked to perfection. If you are a meat-lover like yours truly, these are some of the best kebabs I enjoyed lately, with a light char on the outside for texture, but still tender and moist when you sink your teeth in.

Do ask for their housemade signature chili when enjoying your meal. This is something the regulars at Shabestan keep coming back for. Made with green chili, mint and an assortment of spices, there sauce is a little brownish in colour, with no artificial colouring, freshly made each day. It is fairly mild, but has a zesty, minty kick to it.

With air travel still pretty restrictive, dining at Shabestan provides a novel culinary escape into the Middle East while we remain stuck in tropical Singapore.

Reservations are now open and can be made online via Shabestan Singapore’s official website.
