We were invited for a tasting of their brunch and new drinks menu, and these were among the items we sampled:

Items from the brunch menu

For brunch appetizers, there is a grilled Mala Corn tossed in a spicy rub and Fried Cauliflower served with lime cilantro mayonnaise, each priced at $6++.

For the mains, there is the Bloody Mary Roll, filled with chunks of Nova Scotian lobster tossed with spicy tomato mayo, celery salt, and charred tomatoes at $24++; and the signature B&L Lobster Benedict featuring a 64-degree sous-vide egg served on a bed of chilled, chunky Nova Scotian lobster with lobster bisque mayo, crushed avocado and crispy bacon bits in a lobster bisque hollandaise sauce at $26++.

We could not resist ordering the fabled Original Lobster Roll, $29++ from the regular menu as well. Look at the juicy chunky lobster meat almost spilling out from the brioche roll.  The toasted brioche, buttery and warm, fluffy inside and crispy outside, paired deliciously with the chilled chunks of lobster meat. The lemon and garlic butter added a citrusy, sour kick to the palate.

Bloody Mary Roll vs Original Lobster Roll

Compared to the Bloody Mary Roll from the new brunch menu which is stronger in taste due to its spicy tomato mayo seasoning, the classic version would appeal to those who prefer to taste the mild sweetness of lobster flesh more distinctly.

Another item we got from the regular menu was the Lobster Mac & Cheese $17++. The lobster bisque tastes stronger than the cheese in this one. I personally prefer a Mac & Cheese with a stronger cheese flavor, but those who prefer lobster taking center stage would like this!

Creative new cocktails have been added to enhance the dining experience at Burger & Lobster. Highlights include tempting tipples such as the captivating Little Red Dot made with Hendrick’s Gin, Sg Distillery Stolen Roses Gin and Raspberry coconut syrup at $18.

There’s also the Red Snapper made with gin, tomato juice, spice mix and olives, and Bloody Mary, a blend of smoked vodka, tomato juice, spice mix and olives priced at $22 each. For a little pick-me-up, the Nespresso Martini priced at $18 is a sumptuous mix of vodka, coffee liquor and Nespresso that induces an adrenalin rush at its mere mention. This rich, indulgent and creamy concoction includes a shot of espresso adds a caffeine kick to keep one hyper throughout the day.

For those who prefer it light, try a sip of the Mimosa Grapefruit made with prosecco and grapefruit juice or the Mimosa Orange which uses orange juice instead, both priced at $15 each. For a burst of flavours, the tangy, savoury, spicy yet refreshing Virgin Mary made with tomato juice, spice mix and olives is priced at $14.

The creativity of the cocktails extends to their names. The wittily-named LGB-Tini is sure to elicit smiles. Can you guess how it got its name?? Hint: Think Burger & Lobster’s signature rolls. (Answer in the picture caption below)

LGBT-ini- Its name is inspired by the restaurant’s famous lemon garlic butter, which is a delightful martini made with Reyka Vodka, lemon garlic butter fat-wash, Cinzano and Dry Vermouth priced at $20.

Another cheeky cocktail we enjoyed was Where’s My Culture? $20++, a foamy and sweet (but not overly so) yoghurt-like drink made with a kids’ favorite cultured milk brand. We loved this one.
