Zoo, ZOO, ZOOOOO. This is a word that excites all kids, and kids-at-heart alike. Who needs a reason to go to the zoo? The Zoo being the zoo is reason enough itself!
But trust the folks behind the Singapore Zoo and River Safari to bring the experience up a notch by introducing a Disney Outdoor Explorers themed activity this year-end school holidays.
From 21 November to 27 December 2020, embark on an adventure with Mickey and Minnie to look for the playful doodle animals that have wandered off to explore Singapore Zoo and River Safari!
Fans visiting Singapore Zoo will also have the chance to release doodle animal-shaped ‘clouds’ into the sky while those at River Safari can bring home their very own scratch art bookmarks that feature shapes of the doodle animals.
Learn fun facts about the animals and their habitats through the Explorer’s Doodle Mission.
Completing the mission gains you an animal charm of the week to add to your Mickey and Minnie charm keychains. Reunite the doodle animals and complete the doodle missions every fortnight to get your hands on the full set of charms for your keychains.
#DisneyOutdoorExplorers who love to pose for pictures should spot and take photos of at least three hidden Mickeys across photo points at Singapore Zoo and River Safari to redeem an exclusive gift!
Male Panda Kai Kai feasting on bamboo shoots. We were amused by his free and easy mannerisms and “unglam” eating postures.
In contrast to Kai Kai’s swagger, Jia Jia, the female panda was a picture of gentle refinement. Here she is eating her bamboo shoots elegantly, her back to the audience gawking at her. A lady values her privacy.
The animal show at the River Safari which the kids enjoyed. The show conveyed a strong message of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! Look, even the Pelican knows to use a reusable bag for shopping.
By the time we went over to the zoo, it had started raining so we didn’t get to explore as much as we would have liked to. Nonetheless, we managed to be mesmerized by this two gentle giants playing with water in the drizzle.
Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) updated that due to La Nina, rainy weather in Singapore could last till March 2021, so it’s a good idea to check the weather forecast before you make a trip out! Nonetheless, you can get ponchos at the gift shop near the entrance of the zoo for $4 each!
