In support of the “stay home” circuit breaker measures, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea is pleased to organize a nationwide event aiming to share the culture and taste of Korea, and at the same time do its part to give back and cheer for the healthcare community, who are dedicating themselves in the fight against COVID-19.
The K-Food Online Festival is set to kick off online from 27 May to 14 June 2020.
Following the first K-Pop Online Fest held recently to encourage staying active at home, the newest K-Food initiative will continue to keep up the hype, inviting both Korean food lovers and cooking enthusiasts to share their love for Korean cuisine through the K-Food Challenge. In addition to sharing love with Korean cuisine, the challenge will be a great way to strengthen the family bond, while supporting the Korean food-related service providers in Singapore.
In partnership with the Korean Food and Beverage Association in Singapore (KFBS) and Majulah Movement, a donation platform for healthcare staff and migrant workers, the Korean Embassy will be donating SGD 5,000 worth of Korean meal boxes to support healthcare workers in Sengkang General Hospital.
As one of the most vibrant food cultures in the world, Korean cuisine has become the source of many viral food trends. Whether it’s the latest dalgona iced coffee or making your own version of Steak Ram-don (also known as Jjapaguri) from Oscar-winning movie “Parasite,” you can now tap on the online craze and try your hands at recreating these viral K-Food recipes in the Singaporean way.
There is an easy way to express your love for Korean cuisine.
- Record a video of yourself cooking or tasting your favourite Korean dishes.
- Post the video online with a hashtag #KfoodSGunited.
You may stand a chance to walk away with attractive vouchers from local Korean marts and restaurants, worth SGD 5,000 in combined value.
All submissions will be reviewed by the organizer, with the judging criteria based on your video content’s fun and creative element, originality, as well as engagement level amongst other factors. For more information, please visit here.
