[PROMO] ViewQwest now includes Wi-Fi 6 routers as part of its home fibre broadband plans

ViewQwest launches its Wi-Fi 6 router and mesh router fibre broadband plans as it sets to make Wi-Fi 6 the standard wireless network in homes. While Wi-Fi 6 is expected to be increasingly adopted across various devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets in 2020, not many homes will be able to use Wi-Fi 6 as they have yet to upgrade their Wi-Fi network.

A key barrier to the adoption of Wi-Fi 6 is the premium costs of Wi-Fi 6 routers and mesh routers. ViewQwest is addressing this barrier by including Wi-Fi 6 routers and mesh routers in its standard fibre broadband plans.

Wi-Fi 6 offers faster, stronger, and more consistent Wi-Fi connectivity for multiple devices across the home. It can potentially achieve speeds of up to 9.6Gbps, which is almost three times faster than Wi-Fi 5, that may go up to 3.5Gbps.

The most significant improvement that it has over Wi-Fi 5 is that it can handle up to four times more devices connected to it without facing decreased network speed.

This improvement is ideal for families as Singapore boasts the highest number of connected devices in Asia at an average of 3.3 per person. In addition, with the majority of the workforce currently working from home, there is an increase in the number of devices that are being used while connected to the home Wi-Fi network all at the same time.

At the same time, Wi-Fi 6 can maximise the battery life of the connected devices. This is possible with its Target Wake Time feature, which enables devices to determine when and how frequently they should be “awake” to send or receive data. This means that there will be decreased battery drain which helps to improve battery life.

Wi-Fi 6 has been adopted in some of the latest smartphones that have been released in recent months. This includes popular phones such as the iPhone 11 Series, Samsung Galaxy S10 and S20 series, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 series and Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Consumers can now subscribe to ViewQwest’s Max Plans (basic router plans) and Freedom Plans (mesh router plans) from as low as $46.90 and $59.90 per month for 1Gbps plans respectively (limited time launch offer). Both the Max and Freedom Plans can also be upgraded to 2Gbps plans for an additional $15 and $10 per month respectively.
