There are lots of places in Singapore where you can enjoy buffet meals, but the traditional Taiwanese porridge buffet at Coffee Lounge at Goodwood Park Hotel Singapore probably has one of the most unique backstories.
An icon on Scotts Road, Goodwood Park Hotel is housed in a uniquely designed building that dates back to 1900. The Grand Tower wing of the hotel was gazetted a national monument in 1989 and Coffee Lounge is housed within this wing when it was first opened in 1977. The restaurant has withstood the test of time and remains in operation today, serving up many of their popular classics like their Taiwan porridge menu. Till today, it is fondly remembered as one of the few outlets that opened its doors around the clock for 24-hour dining back in the day and was a familiar rendezvous spot for supper lovers.
For the past 30 over years, the Coffee Lounge has remained mostly loyal to its concept with a 2007 revamp that saw the restaurant retaining its heritage feel, while infusing elements of modern updates.
If you would like to enjoy a buffet with a whiff of nostalgia, this is the restaurant to visit.

I quite like their kung pao chicken, kung pao prawn, promfret, braised pork belly and fried baby squids. These are healthier comfort options compared to snacking on fast food.
