5 hacks to save money when shopping at Marina Square

Shopping at a mall can make a dent on your wallet, if you are not careful.

It’s often hard to plan how much you are going to spend, especially if you don’t always know ahead of time exactly how many items you’ll want to buy or how much they cost. And, it’s so easy to get carried away with buying too many things too.

There are, however, plenty of useful hacks to follow to help you decrease the amount of money spent, while still being able to buy what you need.

We’ve recently discovered a few nifty moolah-saving tricks for shopping at Marina Square. Because “good things must share”, we’ll let you in on what they are:

#1 Download the Marina Square App

At this point, most, if not all, of us have a smartphone. If you’ve got one, put it to good use at the mall. With the Marina Square App, you can have exclusive discounts in the palm of your hand (pun fully intended).

The Marina Square App is like extreme coupon clipping – sans the hand cramps. You have all the deals and discounts for your favourite shops in Marina Square in one place – your trusty mobile phone.

The app has a simple and straightforward user interface. All you have to do is to launch the app and scan your receipt to earn SQUARES. Every $1 spent at Marina Square gives you one SQUARE (with a minimum spending of $20).

What’s more,  from 8 April to 31 May 2019, the more SQUARES you earn, the higher your chances of winning a staycation at Marina Mandarin Hotel Singapore & more. Details.

#2 Save money on parking

Parking can be so expensive in Singapore, especially in town. But it doesn’t have to be at Marina Square because parking is practically free when you use the SQUARES earned.  Every 100 SQUARES earned gives you $2 off parking.

All you have to do is convert your SQUARES with the Marina Square app before driving off. There is no need to remove your cashcard. Any outstanding parking fees will be automatically deducted from your cashcard.

Don’t own a car? Save your SQUARES for more rewards that are coming your way in June.

#3  Get 2x SQUARES on you birthday month

Who doesn’t love a birthday treat? Make your spending work doubly hard for you.

From 1 June 2019 onwards, Marina Square is giving their members double the SQUARES earned on the first purchase made on their birthday month.

If you’ve yet to update your birthday on the app, make sure to do so here to enjoy the birthday perks.

#4 Take advantage of app-exclusive eDeals

Why pay retail price for anything when you can get more for less?

If you are a smart shopper, make sure to redeem $5-off and $10-off eDeals from stores such as Pasta e Formaggio, $2 Nomi Japan, Mothercare, GEOX and with the Marina Square app. View the full list of Marina Square app eDeals.
